The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
There are lots more military issues from Matchbox. I don't know exactly how many but there are quite a few of them!

Oh goodness...going all the way back into the regular wheel era, late 50s to early 60s, there were several MBX military models. The most recent I recall were just about the year 2000, when they did a series of 5 or 6 issues in two colors (olive drab and desert tan) that were released in the mainline. I've had a couple of military themed 5 packs as well from the mid 90s.

Sadly, I sold them all off a few years ago when I needed to raise some cash. When I see them now they all fetch a premium over regular issues.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
There is probably a list somewhere with some military diecast club that list them all.

EDIT: I just "glanced" at Charlie Mack's book, THE ENCYLOPEDIA OF MATCHBOX TOYS, and saw at least 3 dozen castings that seem to be post Lesney era, including the Battle Kings, all mlitary types, so there is plenty more out there. There isn't a separate listing just for military subjects. You'd have to find someone/some club that made up such a list.

Oh lordy, I wasn't even thinking of the Battle Kings. And then there are all of the military aircraft Skybusters. And there's even an M1 tank in the recent upscale line that has all of the work trucks in it (good luck finding one of those, they moved pretty quickly).

Since at one time I pretty much collected everything in the Matchbox 1-75 range I have quite a few of the military models. I also have the Major Pack tank transporter but didn't photograph it as the tank is currently on a mission protecting my wife from those dreaded basement army spiders who just found my Russian SCUD Launcher.

First off...the Regular Wheels

The Mad Documenter!
Here are some from my collection...
An APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) with some very obvious and poorly located damage...

A halftrack from the Connectibles line.

From the not so good times, a military helmet.
Posted Image

A missle launcher, circa 1997. It used to make sounds and the lights would flash, but the batteries are dead.

A Missle carrier...

With fully extended missle!
