I like the pinch framer the best from your paint jobs. Looks like you had the best luck so far with the GM product.

Yeah The Diplomat I made a rookie mistake with. I didnt have the batteries bolted down well enough. The wagon's rear end fell apart. The frame was dragging on the ground and the body disconnected from the frame. The Coronet had MAJOR carb problems and fires took me out both days. And the GM well, was a strong car and I had an expert mechanic with me this last year to keep me running strong

I have to agree with Zach that the Coronet is the best looker, but I love the LTD wagon as well!

I have a question- where did you find a working lightbar?

CRAIGSLIST! I posted a want ad and some cattle farmer had it in his barn. Good thing he saw the ad when he did cause some woman flagged the ad and wrote me a nasty email accusing me of wanting the lightbar to pose as a cop and prey on women. Same issue as the ones in Dukes of hazzard though, it was a nice score for $100

Here is my Best Friends car from 2009. We grew up going to derbies and doing derbies with our hotwheels. He has been away at college since this and hasnt been able to drive but one day we will team up again!

Aside from not having the right casting, I don't think JL could get away with making that one in small scale. ;) That said, I do hope the two of you can team up again for a derby soon!

Looks like my 2012 derby car will be a 1974 Oldsmobile Delta 98. Havent seen the car in person yet but I just spoke to my contact on the phone and that's what he has for me! i'll take pics when I see it in a couple of weeks..

:( Hopefully it isn't rust-free.:( Derbies make me sad, and the bare ass graphic doesn't help matters.

The front bumper look very thin but heavy. These are a pair of '73 Olds 98s.

Thought I had something figured out but I'm not sure? (I kinda want to use my cop light again) And it depends. Some guys get one run out of them. I usually get two. But some guys get 4 or 5.

it all depends on how they are built and what they run against. Some cars get junked in one derby and some run long enough to take damage but not get destroyed

That's among the cleaner looking old iron GM I've seen a while. Most of the clean old iron was run here in the rust belt back in the 90s and 00s. Not much left now.
