OK. Just kidding. I wouldn't really post a teaser picture without explaining! :)

The diecast is actually a 2009 Opel Insignia, made by Norev when that car was new. The 2011 Regal is, of course, a badge engineered Opel, so other than some minor detailing, and those "Insignia" license plates, this is a pretty good match for the Regal (not to mention, this is likely the closest we will get to a new Regal in small-scale).

Oh Norev. <3

Great trick you had there, I was believing it until I noticed the Norev styling.

Thanks for the great pics. You're making my want list longer on the Norev end.

The new Regal looks very nice. And if I understand correctly, it can be had with a manual transmission. As usual your pics are great Dean...thanks for sharing.

Here are the Norev Opel models I managed to secure, back when I had a steady source for Norevs. Currently, I have no connections, but there are some new releases (other makes - not any more Opels I know of) which I really want to get someday.

Norev could make a big impact in North America, if they could land a big box store deal. Nicely decked out castings

I don't think I have any of the Norev Opels. They look great! *Adds to the ever-growing want list*

I have them all apart from the Tigra. They were only ever sold in packs of two, and as I only ever wanted one I passed as they weren't cheap. I really wish I hadn't now because they seem to be mega rare. I can't even remember the last time I saw one on ebay.

The Tigra would've been a great little 1:1 to run around in. The Antara is one I was lucky enough to get. Thanks for the great pics Dean.

Thanks Dean.

I need err want one of these. It doesn't have the classic waterfall grille, tri shield emblems nor is this the Regal GS equivalent Insignia, but its a sweet model.

The Opel Corsa OPC is cool beans too. Sadly I don't think I've ever seen a Norev in the flesh and probably won't.

Opel influence is what Buick needed. Hopefully Buick brings there Opel Cascada/Cabrio stateside. I like the looks of the Buick Encore AKA Opel Mokka despite the fact that the name Encore should have died in the 80s with AMC and the fact that it needs at least 50 more horsepower. I've also heard rumors of the possibility of a full size rear wheel drive Buick and a Buick Envision that most likely will be based on the global Chevy Trailblazer/Colorado platform. Time will tell, but getting away from the sofa on wheels Buicks has been a nice change of pace.

I love my Regal GS more than I loved my LaCrosse. The LaCrosse was just too large and seeing out of the rear was a yoga exercise.
