Thankfully, we haven't needed the snow plows this winter in my neck of the woods. The temperature here is expected to be in the upper 60s with a chance of breaking into the 70s today. In March. In Pennsylvania. Our biggest snowfall? We got five inches on October 29th. It had melted by November 1st!

Wikipedia

Founded in 1917 as the Wisconsin Duplex Auto Company, the company was created to build a severe-duty four-wheel-drive truck. After the first prototype was built, the company began to develop rapidly. This first four-wheel-drive truck, known today as "Old Betsy", is still owned by Oshkosh Corporation and housed in one of its assembly plants in Oshkosh. The vehicle still runs and is used frequently in demonstrations and parades.

That's very nicely done. Looks pretty well accurate too...except...the plow seems way huge. Is that correct, or scaled up by Matchbox?

It would appear the plow is scaled correctly.

Way cool! I remember seeing these on the peg and thinking they did an awesome job! Not much call for snow plows in Florida, though.

I agree and we don't have much use for them in Texas either.

I agree with Billy...that plow does seem ginormous, even with Zach's 1:1 photo.

The plow's spot on. Remember, snow plow operators are require by law to plow your driveway shut right after you've finished shoveling it. And with the trend of folks buying ever bigger SUVs, the plow drivers have had to resort to using bigger and bigger plows to be more effective.

True, Wes, but just think how many Renault's and old hatchboxes you could clear off the roads so easily and quickly with one of these...

I don't think I ever saw these on the pegs. Unless it was during the chaos of last summer with flooding and moving and all that fun stuff.

For you guys who live without snow...It's true that snow plow drivers excel in blasting all that snow from the road right back into your driveway. Thankfully, I am living in an apartment complex once again and don't have to worry about that for a the time being. Besides, we got almost no snow to speak of this past winter.

The plow is accurate, but the angle Swifty took it from makes it appear larger than it is.

But plow trucks like these are not used in the suburbs. They use these on major highways, mountain roads, and freeways.
