We were checking toll prices to make sure I have enough on my I-PASS. All was well until............. PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE!!!!!!!!!!!! $24 one way. Are you serious!!!!!!!!!! Why would anybody drive on that thing. It better be like driving on glass. Needless to say we will be coming in from the N & NW. Anybody planning on coming in on that might want to check their website. |

What!?! How on earth can the toll be that much? I think one route I looked at had a toll, and I need to take an exit towards I-76/Penna Turnpike/PA-272/Pa Turnpike/Denver. I believe this was part of the usual route when I rode in with both Hutt, and Mark A. I don't recall any toll being that much from this end. But if anyone knows for certain, please let me know. |

Yeah, the Turnpike hurts now days. I have been using other routes top go west. 322 through Penn State is a nice ride and not much longer to drive from here to Indiana (PA). |

Robert, if you are coming from the north. Look at a route that takes you to Allentown, PA then south. That is the path I take when going north. |

That seems to be the way it looks when I mapped it out. We are leaving early enough and will enjoy the ride. What's the big hurry? Oh wait, diecast show is the big hurry!! |

Here is their website. Very easy to use. Just put in where your getting on & off, and what kind of vehicle and it will tell you your toll. http://www.paturnpike.com/toll/tollmileage.aspx |

Looks like I'm only coming in between 2-3 dollars when I put in the nearest towns listed in the drop menue. Even if it goes a bit more, that shouldn't be too bad. |

Yikes!!! I'll be going this route, which I believe will skirt around the tolls. We don't take kindly to that sort of thing where I'm from ![]()

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

Yeah, I avoid the Turnpike at all costs. I assure you, $24 is not a typo! You'll cross Indiana and Ohio combined much cheaper than going halfway across Pennsylvania. I would stay on I80 until 322 (like Nick suggested). 322 will take you almost all the way to the show and it's a nice scenic drive. Not an expressway like I80 or the Turnpike but it's a nice drive! |
