Hey Gang, We at M2 would like to take this time to thank all the men and women of all the different military branches for their service and dedication to protecting and keeping us safe. Without them we couldn't do what we do. Thank you. Here is a sneak peek at our upcoming 1:64 scale Auto-Thentic 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air two door hardtop. Just like our other castings this one is full of surprises that will be revealed later. We will produce some really cool versions of this casting including a stock version of a 1955 Chevrolet you can't get anywhere else in any scale! The image shows our 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air fitted with a vintage hood scoop, cheater slick tires on black steel wheels with chrome mags up front, and the front bumper has been removed for a vintage drag look. We have another surprise for this version that you will see soon. Have a great holiday weekend, spend it with family and friends, and stay safe. Thanks, Sean http://m2machines.blogspot.com/2012/05/happy-memorial-day-weekend-from-m2.html ![]() |

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!

Sean, thank you for the '55 Chevy and dedication to all the Vets! I'm a vet, and I will remember what you said and did with this casting when I buy my first version that comes out. The '55 Chevy.......what makes it the ultimate rat rod over the generations? Why did this car always look so good in primer and threatening? What tricks were under the hood? Why did every rat rod '55 want to race everyone else in town? I remember as a kid starting to see them on the streets this way, then racing them as a teen in all my beaters (inluding a '59 Renault Dauphine What was I thinking??) THEN later on having to race them in my GTO. I hated it. Everyone FEARED a rat rod '55, because you never knew what they had! It was a crap shoot to avoid embarrassment. Guys in '55's with nothing but a six and stick on the column would want to take on my Plymouth Duster. They were crazy and fearless.

Happy Memorial Day to all of the verterans out there, and may those who gave their lives for their country Rest In Peace. As for the '55, that looks great! I suspect it will be a hot seller for M2! |

I thank the Vets every day I go to work! I've got very similar memories of primered 55s with lift shackles and 50s under the rear! (No Renault Dauphines though, and no GTOs, mainly just a 67 Ford wagon.) I've often thought that the tri5 Chevys were GMs counterpart to Fords Model As, there was so much you could do to them to personalize them and make them even better than stock, and yet even stock they were great little cars. The guys I went to school with all loved the 57s, my favorite to this day is still the 55. The 56 was cool too, but against the 55 and 57, the 56 was what you got if you couldn't find a 55 or 57. And no respectable Hot Rodder bothered with a 58. Not sure why, I guess they didn't look menacing enough... |

Thank you to all veterans and espeically a moment of silence for all who have given their lives in service to their country to defend the freedoms we all so enjoy. '55 Chevies always get my attention since my father had a '55 wagon. Look forward to the stock version from M2.

I have read what you guys are saying and it's so true, say thanks to our veterans who are under paid and not appreciated enough. Think being a military member just for one day and fighting the war and then think how good you have it to have the rotten boss knowing you will go home every night to enjoy your life being without the burden of living the reality of combat and knowing you will go home to enjoy your family and freedoms. People reach out to these veterans it makes a world of difference to them. |
