Hey all! Yesterday while at Wal-Mart, I struck out on JL's an pretty much everything else. I decided to kill some time and look though the M2 cars on the shelf. They are very detailed and I loved the Mopars... So I picked up the red '70 Coronet/Super Bee with red steelies. I got it home and opened it up to find that the wheels and tires were very thin. Judging by the cases, I'm guessing these cars are more focused on the side profile... But the ice skate tires just don't look good. Needless to say I'm a bit disappointed and wish I would have viewed it closer before buying it. I liked a lot of the models they had, but now I don't know what to do. I want more, but I'm being held back by this personal preference. Does anyone else wish the wheels/tires were thicker? |

yes you are correct . The pick-ups, and the early models all have thin tires. Another thing is they cost about 5.60 something cents here however they offer cars and trucks that I haven't seen on the greenlight or a course the limited Johnny Lightning models. |

M2 has been the most innovative small scale company of the last few years in my view. Some of the quality still sucks as we still see missing parts or loose ones floating around the boxes. That said, they've improved a lot and are still pretty young company. |

I would say give M2 a closer look. It's tough when a personal preference like this pops up and gats you down though. I remember something very similar happening with my first GL. The axle was sliding around with too much play, and after hearing such amazing things about the brand, I was very disappointed. But then I found many great models that changed my mind and had great quality. M2 has been very nice on many levels. I would say not to let one bad experience...which was probably inflated by all the build up...discourage you completely. Let us know how you far in the future. |

All in all I'm liking M2 the more I see of them. The Drivers series is a bit on the cheap side, but you get what you pay for and those are more like entry level I guess. I've got a few, but I went for the 50s MoPars. Some of the first I bought were the see through cars when they got dumped at Dollar Tree. At $5 plus a pop, I get pretty picky about which ones I pick up, but I've picked up a few from sales some guys have from time to time and here and there. I think the wheels are about right for the scale...looking at a real car unless its an Indy racer it isn't going to have big wide meats on all four corners, and only hot rods have wide meats in back. So it can be a bit of a trade off for guys used to Hot Wheels and such, visually the wider tires *look* better, but they are not very realistic. I think by and large M2 is aiming for realism, and the wheels seem to me to be about right. |

I got over the narrow tire thing pretty quick after picking up a few older models. The detail and overall realism of their models is excellent.I got a few from Jimi from his last sale and I am very happy with them. |

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

Exactly what I was going to say! The Drivers series M2 offers does tend to have fatter wheels- if that's to your liking I would give them a try before completely dismissing M2. |
