Nice. Really surprised it has clear glass, could have done without the gold wheels, but still for what it is made to represent.

Wonder if a Monza has ever actually run on Monza. Or if a Sebring has ever been on Sebring, a Monte Carlo has ever run Rally Monte Carlo, ect ect.

I'm in the same boat thinking it would be a stock ride.

This is a great example of our hobby offering "something for everyone"...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CASTING!

This is one of the finest , if not THE finest road racing Monza I have ever seen. I've bought 3 or 4 already just to start customizing and creating real replicas while I could care less for a civil road version.

Agree and there are some very good versions to do Like the Budweiser one and Interscope racing to name a couple and Bruce Canepa races a Red one now in the Historics.

That's what I was thinking... but I way prefer Group 2 and 5, and A and B cars over stock so I'm not complaining. Anyways, you gotta have something to race the IMSA RX-7. :P

@69stang, have you done any other racing customs?

NO ONE more than I was surprised to see clear glass!!! I may just get one for that reason alone!

Why does the wing on this car make me think, "farm equipment?"

JEDIMARIO-- your question about some cars never racing on their name courses---maybe you'll inspire someone to write a book!! :D

That had some loose rules when it came to body modifications including huge rear spoilers, Remember the 935 Porsches with HUGE rear wings as well>????

Don't forget the BMW CSL 3.0 and 3.5, aka the Batmobile.

Group 5 Lancia Beta anyone?

It'd be nice if Hot Wheels did a series of Vintage Racing Group 5 cars.

THAT'S what I'm talking about!

I know a lot of guys don't like the functional fender flares...I've always liked them. The wings don't bother me...Daytona Charger and Plymouth Superbird, anyone? Formula 3 and Group 5 were always some nice, intriguing cars that pushed the envelope of style and function!

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
I like this one- saw it at Kiddie Kar and was surprised it wasn't stock, but that didn't stop it from coming home with me. For fans of stock Monzas, JL has one and Hot Wheels did one back in the '70s (as did Zylmex). This is the first small scale racing Monza I know of.

Would love to see a Group 5 racing release and the Chevy Moza race car had a similar paint scheme as the 3.0 BMW when it was first raced!!! Horst Kwech and Lee Dykstra were the designers of this hot rod

That would be a great addition to the Vintage Racing line- something tells me it could happen. They didn't tool this casting up just to use it in Hot Ones.
