For me, this is *the* quintessential '80s Matchbox casting...

I think everyone and their sister had the black with flames version with plastic wheels. Was a fun casting until stepped on (ouch), then I never wanted to see it again.

Support your local demo derby.

Agree with Ryan. The BWF version is the only one I have.

This is one of my favorites...I have most of them shown here.

It also was issued as a monster truck with at least three different kinds of tires, including (for some reason) neon yellow.

Those are awesome Billy! I don't look hard for the Monster trucks, but I do go looking for the Bog Buster Holden, and some of the others turn up in my hunt, but I've never seen these 57s before!

Anyone have a list or a link to which castings MB used as monster trucks? I'm intrigued with Billy's pics of the '57s.

Besides the Chevelle, Holden and Bronco I showed recently, I've seen the Model A panel truck which kinda catches my eye too. I know there are more, I just never got around to paying that much attention, still trying to catch the Bog Buster with the black tires and two rim variations...chrome and black chrome. Got two bookmarked on the 'bay, from the same seller, but at $20 each *plus shipping* I'll pass until he comes to his senses or I find someone else priced more reasonably.

Not sure if this will take:

Yes, that's the Blazer. I had one but it's still missing- most likely in my storage unit still. Most of my monsters are among the missing.

The 57 is also available with those accurate tires, the third variation I mentioned above.

Edit to add: By the way, there may be chassis variations, too. For a time Matchbox got on a tractor pulling kick, so you might be able to find them with no tractor pull slot. They then changed the chassis to have a box with the slot for the tractor pull trailer, then the third and final variant is the box removed and a slot in the actual orginal chassis itself. Amazingly, I still remember what order they came in, even though I have not seen most of mine in over a decade and a half...it meant that much to me when I was a kid!
