I hear ya have a B61 Cab floating around somewhere. A little massaging and you are on your way.
Or there is an Ertl candidate in 1:64.
They would make a great pair.
you talking about the torqued off cabs? ive got 2 of them.

do you need one ? pm me your address. there are no interriors for them and both frames are trashed. i think i have an extra set of wheels. not really sure.

Thanks Gunn, but that was not my intention. I have a couple of Torqued offs and a few Ertl's and already in the process of building a couple of B macks up.
I just love your trucks and thought the link might get you fired up for B tow truck.
That little Ford is a stunner and now I'm seriously looking at a couple of M2's I have laying around soon as I finish a couple of projects off.

sure invite him. i would love to see more of his work.
i sent him a message but he hasn't responded
and for loads on logging trucks use sticks from the garden, cut em to the length of the truck and chain em down with dollar store jewelry chain (in the craft section or the jewelry section)

Nice Crafty.

Here's a pic of the roughed out torqued Off cab for a B61 build with a TO'd and Ertl for comparison.

There's life in those unused cabs yet Gunn.

crafty & dugite those trucks are killer now if m2 would make some of these.
i dont feel like shelling out the cash for molded headache racks so i desided to design my own out of
1/16x.014 tubing. so what i did was slowly beat down the alum-tubing to the flat stage. you have to go slow or the
tubing will split or crack. mark out the center of the tubing then start bending. ( real slow. it can still crack )
now for the corner bends. i measured out how wide i wanted it. then bend. now for the test fit.
Posted Image

next i measured out both sides for 2 rear bars. ( round ) i did not flatten these.
took the flat headache rack and drilled out 4 holes for pins to go in. ( here i used rod just for pics )
Posted Image

and if you notice it will also make a good front grill brush guard. lol :toy:

gunn you gotta go out in the garden and get it a load of sticks or load it up with some of the pipe you used for the rack
lol not yet. i have lots of tree on my 1 acre lot. and there not going anywheres.
still alot more to do. im gonna try something new for the interrior that i saw done on a 1/24th scale model. i hope i dont screw the seats up...
i want every inch of this thing customized in some way. even if its only 1 thing.
i will be making the ignition key for the dash soon. clutch and break peddels.
air lines and air tanks. hose's on the trailer. there is so much more to do.

i tryed the 1957 dodge 700 coe on this frame and it looks killer sitting on it. ( next project later. ) lol
right now the semi went from 15 scale ft ..to 23 scale ft and the trailer not extended is 21 scale ft. open it's 28 scale ft
so its 51 total. 1 ft shorter than i wanted. that can be fixed by making a new brass tounge.
more later. and thanks for looking and all the comments

getting closer to finishing this up. sprayed both frames white then alil blue green trying to match the cab best i can
Posted Image

then the rims
Posted Image

and test fitted the dash with cracks
Posted Image

here are a couple tips if anyone trys customizing a semi. the rims are male and female. each lock into each other before you try putting them back onto the axle.
tip #2 stay away from rustoleum paint. says 24 hr cure time and this stuff is still wet. when i picked this stuff up i couldnt remember why i dont like it.
now i remember....lol
i'll try a trick i use to use and hit it with a small burst of clear. this usaly will cure it in about 4 hrs. i use a very lite coat. just a misting.
when dry i'll hit it again.
ive made the brake and clutch pedals and a shifter and knob. but need to detail the dash out add the steering shaft in. key in the dash. drive shaft. 1 more set of mud flaps. brake lights. air lines and air tanks. hose's off the trailer and put the shot gun on the seat. ya never know when you might need back up in the woods... lol

Ohhhh! That beautiful shiny paint job.
lol that shine wont last long. lol
it took 8 days for that paint job to dry. even under heat. and i will never use rust-oleum paint again.
here is where i am now.
the frame

diamond plate
Posted Image

the body
Posted Image

the trailer. missing hitch hose's.. and added mud flaps with crome bottom plates
Posted Image
drive shaft has been made. and i want to redesign my exhaust pipes.
today im gonna design a cherry picker and see if i can get it to fit. i saw a real pole truck last week and what thay did was reverse the trailer for piggie back and stuck a flag and rotating light on the tounge. ( tounge was pointed out the back. instead of over the roof.)
if it doesn't work out no big deal i will make another truck with a cherry picker later.
thanks for the comments everyone, i know everyone is getting tired of seeing this post pop up. so im only going to post as i get closer to the end of project or when it is done. :toy:
