The Chevrolet Division of General Motors Corporation never made a "SS" or "Super Sport" rendition (version) of any Chevrolet model in 1958.
This is obviously a "faux pas" or as I would desribe it "technical deviation".
Not a big deal, but also not correct.
BYW the 1958 Impala two door hardtop models offered in 1958 in Canada and the United States did have some visual differences.
Probably a not well known fact.
There was a 1958 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe (two door hardtop) which probably was mistakening called an "SS" on the blister casting description.
Atleast this is my take on this issue.
