I understand that this Showcase is (you know it's true) probably one you couldn't care less about. But, because this is one of the models I've recently received, I figured the least I could do is show it off a little. Who knows, after this is done you may actually want this truck! But probably not.

I don't usually like the metallic blue paint that's used here, especially after seeing it on the peg-warming 2009 Mazda 2. However, I think it works pretty well here, even though this is a city maintenance truck.

The rims are chrome silver, not gloss like most of the past Street Cleaners we've seen. The actual brushes are white, which is also something unlike most of the past Street Cleaners. Clearly, this is a somewhat unique version.

Under the driver side and passenger side window, the writing says 'Area 28 Division 7.' There is also a black recycling emblem next to the door handles. The fenders are painted black too.

On the rear portion of the truck is a simple, yet realistic design. The black writing says 'Keeping Our Parks Clean For All To Enjoy.' The electrical box states the trucks unit number is 8. Now, on that symbol, from top to bottom, it says 'Ranger' then 'National Parks' underneath that. The words in white on the orange circle are nearly impossible to read. I can't even make out the top word, but the bottom one is 'Services.' Oh, and I love that eagle too, so majestic and patriotic!

The window tint is a light smoke, and looks fairly decent. I think clear plastic would've suited the truck better though, especially considering it has lights on top that are the same mold as the windshield.

The back of the Street Cleaner has no tampoes, but it doesn't need them. The back is detailed enough on its own, and looks really, really, really realistic.

That white plastic square on top is actually a button. When you press it, those white brushes come down to touch the whatever surface the model is on. Pretty cool moving part!

Here's the whole family, with the exception of the Red Kleenschweap 2011 version:

This definitely was not a model I originally wanted. As usual though, I ended up liking it. Why not? It has a nice, simplistic design, a moving part, and looks great with the rest of the family. I do hope that we see more generics from Matchbox looking like this, not like, well, ... you know what models I'm talking about. Let's just say, I think that some disease that gives all Matchboxes massive off-road tires is spreading for the 2013 New Models. Lets hope they find a cure....

As always, thanks for reading and observing the pictures in my latest Showcase!

mbx64 :D

P.S. I ordered something special for my 10th Showcase. It came in, but wasn't what I ordered. At all. Let's hope I can fix that in the coming days!

I really like that design! I would not have thought about it at first, but now that I've seen it, I actually wouldn't mind getting one.

I just discovered this myself. At our last club meeting one of these was opened... I just could not resist playing with it myself. Something I never knew about this casting.

I loved this one from the minute a preview picture was posted in the Ambassador report. I love metallic blue (should be obvious ;) ) and this is among the best generic castings Matchbox has.

Yup, that's what I was trying to say there. It's one of the most realistic looking generics there is. It looks like a Scania with the Street Cleaner components put on the rear chassis.

One of the other realistic generics is that Crop Master. It looks just like some vintage tractors out there.

i never knew about the button feature... these are a little too small for the big city, but i picked up and detailed a few for 1/87 land. thanks for the info and great close-ups
