what did you use to take the tampos off? I was doing that, but noticed i started to take off some body paint lol... so i'm not putting it into the future re-paint pile...

I have had great luck removing tampos using this product. Have plenty of cotton swaps handy. Use it sparingly. Swipe across the tampo, then neutralize it with a cotton ball saturated with cold water. Rotate the swab constantly and or change it for a clean one otherwise you might just smear it around creating a mess. The trick is not giving the solvent time to attack the finish. Take your time and you should have good results.

i've had good luck using a small amount of brake parts cleaner on a washcloth corner, but like the goof off dont push to hard or stay in one spot or the paint will start coming off

It sounds like goof-off, brake cleaner and acetone-free nail polish remover all follow the same rules: use sparingly, be gentle and lightly buff, don't scrub or the paint will come off with the tampos.

I wish I had that problem, my problem is always with paint not coming off, especially the HW racing blue, that stuff can sit in paint stripper and remain unaffected.

Edit: I forgot my on-topic comment, the Firebird looks great. Is the interior chrome though? Let's bust out the bleach and get that chrome blacked out. ^_^

I use Acetone fingernail polish remover to do the job on a q tip swab. Just dont apply too much pressure...........I have heard good things about goo off.

I'm about to do this to the one I found today, and de-chrome the interior too. Stealth Firebird anyone?
