As far as the lineup, there is a very long story as to how these were chosen. Considering the circumstances I am pretty happy...
Can you share, or was this a Gathering exclusive? I'd like to hear the tale if you can divulge it!
I don't know if there is anything juicy to share, but what I can say is there was a long back and forth on what to do, how to do it, who to market to, and to be honest whether it was important to do anything at all. And remember, those discussions involve a lot of parties who oversee various interests at Mattel. Ultimately a direction was finalized, and a plan put in place. I will have some details on why the direction was chosen in the next report.

Just know that the assumption we all had over the last couple of years that a 60th Anniversary line was a done deal was actually pure speculation.
Well they did not do a good job at all then and I would wager this was sorted out in a couple of hours and no longer than that. The question of who to market to is not hard to work out is it.the US&A + US&A + US&A.(I worked that out in a few seconds).

Come on Mattel you could have done better than that, all you have done is place your current lines and a few from the past year or two in a blister with 60 on it.

I find it very difficult to enthuse on a British invented product having a special birthday and dross like this dished out. Some blasts from the past like a BP Alvis Stalwart retailing at a decent amount to cover making new dies etc. Many would moan because it costs above a dollar but many would pay a $5 or even $10.It could have been a very special collecting theme for adults only and let the toddlers have there normal.

I wager Hot Wheels birthday bash will be more collector friendly than this bunch of rubbish.

Bill...you of course make good points but I do not give two craps anymore where the brand was born...just make a good fing product that we can all enjoy. Why the heck MAttel can not do this is beyond my feeble comprehension.

Please get your act together Mattel and stop producing half a** attempts.

I am annoyed and embarrassed that I am whining so much about this....

Jeff,

I also give two hoots where it was invented either,I am Welsh and the English hate us anyway lol but even Mattel should have spent a few quid extra. :bangles: I would rather spend the money on your customs rather than that load of tripe.
