i was looking a a thread. what movie car would you like to see made. and someone put up the corvette summer picture. i had forgotten about my mock up of that car i started back in 2007 so i took some new pics of it. ![]() ![]() i never did sand down the hood mock up for a good fit so i just sat it on the car. this was suppost to be casted once properly made. ![]() i might pull it back out this winter and finish it. here is a 2007 pic of the mock up ![]() |

like i said the vette in 2007 was a mock up. but now with new castings out i found the correct vette but it has 1 bad flaw. the bae is plastic which means the front end side pannels 1/2 is plastic so this means making them. here is the new one ive been working on. a spoiler was made from pewter and the rear tail lights have been welded in ![]() the hood .... the new one had to be grounded down to remove a big bulky hood scoop. and here is the one im working on now. its is not finished yet. more grinding needs to be done on it to look right ![]() ![]() that point needs to come off alittle like i said it's not even close yet. after i finish that. it will be time to cut the roof open. here is a link to the real one. http://www.corvettefever.com/featuredvehicles/corp_0801_1973_chevrolet_corvette_summer_movie_car/photo_08.html more pictures later. i hope i can pull this project off...time will tell

Nice job. Don't forget to convert it to right-hand-drive like the 1/1 movie car! ![]() What is the new casting you started with? Old casting was definitely the Hot Wheels 1976 Corvette that dates way back. |
