Bought at Shopko in Eugene, Oregon for $2.99, DLM'd within minutes of it coming in the house and being unbagged, and detailed within half an hour as I waited for a pizza to arrive. I added chrome trim and exhausts and chrome instead of satin silver bumpers with a Uchida silver calligraphy pen, chrome handbrake, shifter and steering wheel spokes inside the same way and a chrome windshield/wind wing the same way, and chrome-to-magnesium wheel centers with a silver Sharpie. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks! I can get shaky, but I have found that if I have relaxing music on (John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Bill Frisell and John Zorn work best, so do Enya, Clannad and Sarah Brightman), I can get nicer work done, and I work only with new pens and keep a Dixie cup full of rubbing alcohol or Everclear, some cotton swabs & some cotton balls handy to clean up ink messes or overdone details, along with some non-acetone nail polish remover pads for the Uchida pens (non-acetone does not ruin most glass and removes the Uchida ink) by my work space. The casting is also held in place by oversize thumbtacks on a piece of flakeboard, so it does not move around much. I showed this casting to my new neighbors this morning, one of them knows diecasts fairly well from his old job at a big-city toy and hobby store, he was convinced that I was showing him a Kyosho that I didn't do a thing to until I turned it over and the HW logo was visible. |

Looks great, and I'm going to try some of what you mention the next time I have a casting to detail. Actually, great is almost an understatement. |

Nice work! We're getting a Shopko here soon (they bought out all the Pamida stores in all the small towns). I wonder if they will carry anything like this in the stores here. |

Shopko has moved into our area also (well the closest store is 60 miles from me but that is part of life out here). I stopped there once and they had basic Hot Wheels and Matchbox but not much else. They hadn't been opened to long so may have still sorting out the stocking of the toy aisles. |

Thanks! I also have a Boulevard or two and some other premium HWs that will eventually get this treatment. |
