Today's truck of the day is Norev's 2005 Hummer H2 SUT.

Wikipedia

The Hummer H2 is an SUV and SUT that was marketed by General Motors under the Hummer brand.[1] It is a large truck (slimmer than the Hummer H1), while longer, heavier (6600 lbs.), and taller with room for six passengers (including driver), seven passengers in some models. The rearmost part of the H2 SUV was modified to a pickup truck bed for the 2005 H2 SUT ("Sport Utility Truck"). The Hummer H2 was the only one of the trucks to have the letters HUMMER between the grille. The H2 SUT is a pick-up truck for its abilities to haul cargo with an extendable box to reach 6 feet in length. This makes the SUT able to haul the same cargo most trucks can haul.

This Hummer was part of Norev's high-end collector series. It was paired with a yellow H2 SUV and they were sold as a boxed two-pack, similar to the Hot Wheels Collectibles 2-packs. The detail is fantastic, but the prices (in AutoArt territory) seemingly kept this series from being very successful. It is a shame this series did not continue longer. This model has a removable bedcover, which is in place in some of the last pictures (in the pics of it with a 1/18 H2 SUT from Maisto).

Wikipedia

The H2 was built under contract by AM General at a specially constructed plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, USA. The H2's final frame assembly is made up of 3 sections: The front uses a modified GM 2500-Series utility frame, the midsection is all new and is completely boxed, and the rear section uses a modified GM 1500-Series frame which is upgraded for the 8,600 pounds gross vehicle weight. The H2 has a light duty truck frame and has a wider-than-average track firm that may offer stability against overturning compared to some of the more common light truck SUVs, although objective tests have not been performed by the government or other outside parties due to its specialized vehicle class. It was marketed as both a general purpose vehicle and as an off-road vehicle. The objective of GM's mass marketing was to maximize sales, and the H2 is primarily used as a passenger vehicle on typical roads. Along with the Ford Excursion the H2 was also the base for a limousine conversion. General Motors was not required to provide official H2 fuel economy ratings due to the vehicle's GVWR.

Several years ago, a Scottsdale "gentleman" drove his Hummer SUT through a flowing flash flood that had overtaken a local road. He got washed away, because despite the GVW, the force of the water was too poweful. Of course he had his children with him and had to be rescued by the fire department...

Great story! Money can buy the fancy cars and trucks, but the technology in even the best-of-the-best vehicles, still does not include a "Common-Sense Boost" button for people to use when they've run out of their own.

I would love to have one of those as my favorite Hummer of all is the H2SUT. I just cant seem to justify buying one at the high price. :beatit: Great work Norev  Now lower the prices! I refuse to pay $80 USD from a Polish eBay seller for something American as a HUMMER!

$80 for this?? Ouch! That's just someone trying to take a collector over the coals! These were never cheap, but Norev's original price was closer to around $15.

Checked again and a Norev Hummer H2 SUT is $99 plus $35 Shipping from Hong Kong! Why do they always have to taunt us with stuff we want at rediculous prices!

They did a really great job with this one. It looks like the real thing, only smaller.

I wish I had known about it when it was current, $15 is not too expensive. Even if it was $30 for the two-pack mentioned above it would still not be too expensive. Unfortunatly, this thread, right now, is the first time I've ever heard of it.

Wow! This looks great! :bowing:

Hummer models must be hard to find now, since Hummer went bust several years ago.

I can't believe the low price it sold for! That's significantly less than new. Someone got a bargain!
