Hello everybody,

This time i will show you a HW that i recently buy (1 - 2 months ago). It's the Corolla AE 86 from Hot Wheels. At the base says that was released in 2005 - Is the first time i saw it here in my City , Was in a 2013 Line Blister pack.

As you can see the style of the car is Pure Japanese tuning - As you know This car is used at drift races.
Its painted in Black w/ white tampos... I got to say that the tampos are not so good Applied, they look like scratches

Posted Image

The detail level is good, it has nothing to ask to other models....... It has a exhaust pipe - You dont seen this in HW too much - As I say you can see the wrong positioned tampos ,

The japanese tuning style in this car is obviusly :D Another thing I will change if I can is the roof, It looks like a ''chop - top'' car.

This is a good casting, The style is appropiate, It's a great addition to any collection if you are looking to make grown up your Japanese car segment - I know , Are other brands that did this car and they did it much Better, but for $1 toy, Its very good.... Il ike this car a Lot :D Im planning to paint it in a red color maybe? Or blue - But keep that sporty and tuned style on it.

Thanks for reading, Have a nice day - Don't forget to comment ;)

Looks good.

After seeing your pictures and checking mine, I've noticed the rear spoiler seems to be a commonplace spot for the tampo to be sketchy.
I was mildly obsessed with this when it came out... I have 16 of them now including a few of the older releases (2006 First Edition and the Hot Tunerz 5 pack).

If we want to be picky, this is actually a Sprinter Trueno AE86, the Corolla Levin has exposed headlights and different taillights. The USDM Corolla GT-S AE86 was essentially a LHD Sprinter with different bumpers, which is probably why they went with the Corolla name on it.

Have they released this in a solid color or actual race livery yet? It's a great casting, but I can't recall paint on it that I didn't dislike.

No, they have not.

Here's what has been released, so far, not including the black and white one shown above, which is the most recent.

Cars Of The Decades series (WalMart) - the best looking one, so far, in my opinion, but I also really like the latest black and white one.

I've heard rumours of a white and black (mirror of the current one) version later this year, and also a purple version.

I'm really hoping it's not my dreams taunting me by acting all mundane but providing exciting (but untrue) details about upcoming HW releases.

If I'm mistaken, I'll bug you for your address and send you a custom one, but hopefully we'll both have official purple AE86s in a few months. Maybe the diecast gods can hear my prayers and follow some purple Truenos with red Levins and white AE82 FX16s hatchbacks.

Maybe some TE71s or AE92 or 101s as well. Hint hint Mattel. ;)

Oh good, I'm not crazy. Or, if I am, this isn't a sign.

I'm gonna have to buy a bucketload load of white AE86s to detampo and dye. I'll hold off dyeing my Skylines and M3s until I've got the white Sprinters too.

When I can borrow a camera I'll post some of the Levins I've converted some of these Truenos to. It's pretty simple to do if you have body filler, and looks decent even if you don't use body filler on the tail lights and popup headlight divets.
