Have to have this one thanks for posting. Color scheme is great, I don't usually like the red windshield but it really works with this one. I really enjoy the dragstrip castings HWs do them probably better than anyone else.

I love this casting.

Just with these tampos I think there are three major varis, I don't know of minor varis...Dan might. The FE as I recall was issued in red/orange with these same tampos. This one in black and another in silver were both set cars as I recall...I don't remember where the black one came from but the silver came with a Hauler.

Support your local demo derby.

This is a release where I don't mind the red or green colored windows. Were they not used on 50s and 60s era race cars?

Well...this is a 90s and 00s era race car. I don't think glass color is meaningful, particularly...at least it doesn't clash, but I would think colored glass wasn't used on a race car...but honestly I never paid any attention.

For a dollar car (the mainline anyway), this one displays quite well beside the Muscle Machine Super Chevy Nitro Coupe...which is among the select group in that series that I still feel was the best detail bang for the 4 bucks retail at the time (even M2 has to play catch up to the MM Super Chevys). The HW has none of the opening features or fine details, but it silhouettes very favorably with the MMs.

It was not mainstream, but quite a few mainly Gassers had red or yellow tinted windows, why? I do not know, Fad? Probably.

I was thinking of the gassers. Didn't realize what class they fell under.
