The Fleshtone one with the Brown Metallic base is Hong Kong
The Tan one with the Root Beer Metallic base is a Raised bar Malaysia
Also a slight difference in the tampo design

The reason for the "Raised Bar" Malaysia is when Mattel transferred production to Malaysia they used the same molds and modified the origin to read Malaysia which when working with molds would have the Hong Kong machined out and the Malaysia imprint etch in its place which when the casting was produced gives you the reverse effect and now the origin is on what appears to be a raised bar, also meaning this was the original Hong Kong base mold that was modified.

I really like this little Toyota camper. There are still one or two that I see around here this time of year when the snowbirds are here driving around.

Support your local demo derby.

The 'raised bar' on the base seems to be a common approach used by companies when changing country of origin.
