Visited an On-the-way-home Wal-mart tonight, and scored a ghostly diecast. Wasn't much of anything new on the pegs as usual, but then spotted this new series on 2 pegs with yellow 32 ford, the Batmobile, KIT 2000, and wait...is it?...Yes, it IS, Ecto-1, Yay! Only one on the peg of the 15 cars there, had about 7 of the yellow 32 Fords. There was the new release of Flying Customs, which I hadn't been interested in much except for the 56 Chevy and a few others, but spotted the Amphicar, nice paint job, still not thrilled with the big V-8 in it, but oh well, I got a couple of those, too. The 73 Granada was a decent looking car, too, but not big on those Fords, either. Anyway, here's my two scores tonight.

Support your local demo derby.

The Caddy is a nice issue with added tampos. The 'Granada' you refer isn't a Ford. The Sheriff Patrol is actually a mid size Mopar sedan. You're not the first one to think that was a Ford either. ;)

No, I'm referring to the red '73 Granada 2-door coupe. Not the sheriff's car.

That may very well be the nicest Ecto yet in retail available 1:64. I was lucky enough to snag one when they hit Pep Boys. Congrats!

It took me a minute to think about, but I figured out the red 2-door in the Flying Customs line is the Ford Gran Torino stock car.

A Granada would have been cool, though.

Had to get a couple of grocery items late tonight, and Walmart fit the bill, so I grabbed my groceries, and checked the toy aisle. About a dozen of these new 'Entertainment' cars....but all dozen of them were the '32 Fords and the Mystery Machines. None of the "good" ones. But that's about par for the course, isn't it?

Have made it to a couple of Wally stores this past week. Nothing...the entertainment models are no where on the pegs - for that matter the only boulevard models they had were dusty as they have been there that long. I really don't get it - you would think Mattel would want these models in all of the various retail locations but at least stores I have been to, the same is true of Target and K-Mart - nothing to be found.

Oops, yeah, I don't know my Fords that well, I remembered the Gran part. LOL. It is indeed the Torino, not Granada.

They're 4.99 in Virginia. Or 5.99. I forget.

I knew exactly which one he meant right away, because as a kid I alway thought the Torino Stocker was a Granada. The Granadas were far more common on the roads in the mid '80s than Gran Torinos and the packaging was long discarded on these cars (and it wasn't labeled on the base since it shared the base (and interior and glass!) with the Chevy Stocker.

I'd like to see them do a Granada (or better yet, Mercury Monarch - I always thought that was the better looking of the two!).
