Today's truck of the day is from Firehawk73's collection, and is M2's 1958 Chevrolet Apache Cameo Pickup.

Wikipedia

Chevrolet Task Force is the successor to the venerable Advance Design trucks, the Task Force Series ran from late 1955 (second series) through 1959. The 1955 second series offered standard options and add-ons such as 12-volt electrical systems, the first V8 (the 265 cubic inch), and fleet-side 6-foot, 7-foot, and 8-foot-length beds.

Wikipedia

1958 - First year for fleetside bed, significant redesign of front end. All ⅓-ton trucks are now called Apaches. Truck now has four headlights instead of the previous two and features a shorter, wider grille running the width of the front end. Parking lights are now in the grille instead of being in the front of the fender and the hood is similar to 1955/1956 models, but with a flat "valley" in the middle. First year for factory-equipped air conditioning.

Support your local demo derby.

That's a nice customized example from M2 of the '58 Cameo. It seems more companies are picking up on the classic truck trend which is very much welcomed.

I like the truck but think it would look better all black.

That is a sharp looking pickup! M2 does a great job on all of their models.

Sweet! I think it would look great in more stock two tones...like red on white or coral on black.

Very neat truck!

I love the two-tone body, as that blue is gorgeous.

Found this one at Walmart awhile back. Went in to get something for the wife and this was at a time that I was alittle tired of the diecast scene. Well, some habits are hard to break and wandered into the diecast section and this diecast gem caught my eye and spent my money. Now I am in the hunt for the other M2 GM styled trucks.

I have another one of these in the more traditional colors and agree with Wes, but if I see this version, I'm buying it. Castings like this are sooo much fun to hold in your hand and admire. I just sigh and wish I could have driven (or owned) one of these when they were new on the streets. It must have been one great kick in the butt.
