Today's car is Johnny Lighting's 1966 Volkswagen Beetle.

Wikipedia.com

The Volkswagen Beetle, officially called the Volkswagen Type 1 (or informally the Volkswagen Bug), is an economy car produced by the German auto maker Volkswagen (VW) from 1938 until 2003. The car was dreamed up as a cheap simple car, and it was commissioned by Adolf Hitler and designed by Ferdinand Porsche.[6] With over 21 million manufactured (21,529,464)[7] in an air-cooled, rear-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration, the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single design platform, worldwide.

The racing Beetle is a nice looking model but not one I remember. Like the colors and the wheels!

I could do without the whaletail, but otherwise I like it, it's a bug!

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
I agree with Wes above, not too fond of the back end but most beetle castings are fun to collect no matter what they've done to it....just like the real beetles, always fun to see and photograph.
