Hosspower98's Latest Grabs; ...my continuous thread

I thought I'd try to create a thread to show all my recent finds and creations.

I received my first ever Auto-World Mustangs this week.

Posted Image

Also the two remaining '47 Ford COE's from Jada.

Posted Image

Posted Image

The long sought-after GL Falken Mustang also landed on my doorstep.

Posted Image

I found the elusive '69 Mustang LE in Blue/Gold. Whooo Hoo!

Posted Image

I had a spare M2 1965 Vintage Burgundy that I did a wheel swap. ('65 Patriot Series) I detailed the interior to black dash, black carpets, dove gray seats and door panels. It looks much better now IMHO.

Posted Image

I picked up another HW 2012 Boulevard Series '56 Custom F100. I stripped it down and tried out some new Dupli-Color Shadow Chrome Blackout wheel paint that I found at PepBoys. It was easy to apply and I liked the results. I bought a HW Universal Monster Dracula Ford coupe Neet Streeter to use as the tire/wheel donor. It was a shame that I scrapped the casting, it was kind of cool.

I flipped another '56 F-100 today. I bought several brown and tan HW 2012 Boulevard series custom '56 Ford pickups. The casting is one of my favorites. I stripped this one down and gave it a couple coats of Ford Engine blue paint. Then I swapped the wheels/tires from a spare HW 2013 Pop Culture '56 Ford Panel truck. I am happy with the results of my variation of this fine casting.

A couple of new flips. It's nice to have extras!

The Burgundy beauty with the tan top was an accident. My intention was to detampoo the tan roof. It was laid on quite heavy and my solvent compromised the burgundy metallic base coat. Soooo- Dip-it, Strip-it and Flip-it soon followed. It was a shame, I liked the original color.

Rummaging through my paint locker, I spotted a new can of semi-gloss dark red. It almost looked like that "girlie" mauve color that was trendy a few decades ago. I renamed the color Cranberry and gave it two hits of gloss clearcoat.

Whatcha think?

Your customs look good Jack! I especially like the blue one. I think the wheels choice was excellent however the original wheels would have look as good if you just changed out the white wall tires for the red line tires but the results is still just as good with the wheels you put on it.

Thanks Paul. I have several customs with the full moon wheel covers. I do like them. I had to try something different.

BTW that Burgundy/Tan beauty was a duplicate of the one you sent me. That panel truck was the fire cracker that got me started on the love of this casting. I have all of the production pieces from HW plus promos and customs which completely fills 2 Jammer cases. Thanks Paul.

Shown is a duplicate of one I received from eBay that was severely traumatized by children. The nasty one was restored.

The spray can said "Satin Whipped Apricot"...Looks like flat yellow to me! Ordinarily pale yellow bores me, but I think I am liking this shade.
