Ice cream truck, with sound?

I visited an Antique show Saturday, and picked up some cheap diecast, most near mint, for $1 each. Among these is an older matchbox ice cream truck, from the '90's, and it LOOKS like there is a speaker inside, with holes drilled in the bottom plastic base. And a screw instead of a rivet. I take it this is a sound-equipped vehicle? I will have to take it apart out of curiosity anyway, but thought this was kind of neat, I didn't realize they had this type of thing.

I've seen this one before. I believe it's one of the Real Talkin' Rigs.

I do have the regular one in a package somewhere, but all I had was a pic of the Spanish one, it looks the same as this only in English. They have lights, and music, and say things.

Each of the Real Talkin' vehicles had a 'bank' of several phrases and sounds, which would play in a random fashion when the front axle was pressed. Sometimes only one phrase or sound would emit, and other times, two or three of them would play back-to-back. For example, the Ice Cream Truck could play just a musical Ice Cream truck song, or could play a man's voice saying "Ice Cream!" followed by the music, followed by a child voice saying "Chocolate!" -so forth and so on.

Each vehicle had two lights. The Snack Truck casting has two interior lights: one in the driver area, and one in the vendor area, which both stay lit up as the random sequence of sounds is being played. The emergency vehicles had two lights inside the light bar, and those lights flashed alternate from one another. The Garbage Truck has 2 yellow lights on the rear which flash alternately.

Here are some of mine I had easy access to:

Other models in the series include a U.F.O., a Missle Launcher, and a '95-'97 Ford Crown Victoria police car, which was awkwardly and disproportionately wide - a different casting than the 1-75 basic range '97 Crown Vic.

Boy sometimes I think Mattel can't make a unique light rescue truck. Emergency Squad, this one, and Rescue Duty all share the same rear. By the way, what does this Real Talkin' Rig say, as well as the Fire Engine.

I like it too. I wish that the Autocar ACX had a dumpster loading mechanism instead of a trash can loader. All the Autocar trash trucks (less so than the similarly sized Macks) I've seen around here I've seen have been outfitted for dumpsters instead of trash cans. So far, the only Matchbox one I have seen other than this one outfitted for a dumpster was the ugly Hero City one that came with the dumpster.

By the way, what does this Real Talkin' Rig say, as well as the Fire Engine.
The batteries in both of my fire trucks, and both of my Ford F-350 rescue trucks (one wasn't available for the photo shoot), are only strong enough to make the lights flash, but the sounds/voices no longer work, and I can't remember what they said.

The garbage truck still works. It makes a metal-crushing sound, like a compactor, and two blasts from a big rig air horn. The sayings are:
"Let's go." "Dump it." "Crush it." So a press of the wheels can produce any combination of the 3 sayings & two noises.

Here's my trash truck, with brand new batteries. I got it loose, so there was no worries about destroying it's mint-ness.

I have one: Mercedes Benz G-Class.

It's a Beach Rescue truck. The lights flash and a siren sounds. It still works after all these years and it still has the same battery as when I bought it new. Never saw any of the others, I like the Lifeguard Rescue truck, the garbage truck and that snack truck.

The "Light & Sound" series was different (and quite a bit older) than the "Real Talkin" series. The yellow Mercedes was part of the Light & Sound series (no speaking - only siren), although I really, really like the one you've shown.

I have the red fire department one. Just washed it and replaced the batteries tonight. Sadly, I lost the screw. I'll have to find a replacement screw.
