Bought this recently because I want to restore it. Have you guys got mint ones to show me? And is it originally a Playart casting (which I doubt)? |

Hi Christope. I'm afraid I don't have this one in my collection but I really look forward to seeing yours once you've restored it. Playart used this cab design on a number of different trucks and, to my knowledge, it was their own design. You do see it from a few other manufacturers such as your very own Mandarin of Singapore, but I think they copied it from Playart. Good luck with the resto

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Absolutely it is Playart. I don't know if you can thread new axles through the chassis without drilling it apart first. If you can, and you have the correct size wire to do so, the hubcaps on the wheels come off. So with the hubcap off, threading the wheel onto the wire, trimming it to size, folding over the end to hold the wheel on and replacing the hubcap is how I would try to do that. I have a feeling you will need to drill it apart anyway in order to replace the axles. Either way, the axles you have are beyond repair. This model was in the Playart line for some time using different payloads, I've seen them with another style of hubcaps as well (uncommon), and the 5 petal wheels which are not as easy to replace. |

Finally got to restore it. I had to replace the wheels with a set of matchbox ones as the originals were beyond repair. Could not find a decent hook either so I just bent a wire to shape, that will do temporarily.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by christophe francois, Feb 7 2014, 09:38 PM.

I think you did a very nice job! Is there anything you can do with the glass? The model looks so nice now except for the bump on the glass. I wonder if you could use some ultrafine sandpaper or steel wool? |
