Definitely will be adding this when I find it, of course I like collecting all the Monaco issues... just wish they'd do a vintage Detroit Police version.

Sharp looking police car from Matchbox. I will add it to my police collection when (and if) it ever shows up on the pegs in these parts.

Now that's more like the one (that I mentioned in a post in another section) that I got a ride in! It was why I had to explain to my ex-wife why I always referred to the 'child safety locks' on the rear doors of our car as 'cop car locks'.

Gonna have to get one of these. And paint it plain white, with blue interior.

Grabbed two, kinda hope to find more. Someone's got to keep my 70-80s street racers on their toes.

Support your local demo derby.

That's pretty well done from MB. They've done a nice job with the Monaco for police duty.

I scored this one this afternoon on a hunt for a snow shovel. Winter-Wonderland blah.

I like it, but I wonder why the Federal Twinsonic lightbar (like the one used on the MBX Ford Ambulance from the late '90s) which was period for this kind of vehicle was not chosen instead of this one.

I'm not sure that lightbar is still available to the Matchbox team.

I will buy this one for myself as it reminds me so much of some very enjoyable US&A films but it will burn the pegs in the UK as kids only want Busy cars they see on the streets in the UK like BMW-Audi-Volvo etc.

Are you sure you don't want to tell us more about those "cop car child safety locks?"

This is one of the best versions of the '78 Monaco yet. The bright blue paired with the gold striping and clear windows makes this car a hot enforcer.

Nice photos, too!

Matchbox can occasionally knock one out of the park, and this one does just that.

Maybe some other time (heh, heh)...At least it had a padded rear seat. Not like the solid plastic (or fiberglass?) ones I've sat in, I mean, SEEN in late-model Crown-Vics.

I found one...the only one left, in fact, hanging on the pegs here. Sometimes you hit it it in the nick of time!

Ooh, yeah. I'm after this one, too. I'd like to see an Illinois State Police version.
