A fine looking oldie fire engine.

I wonder why they can't stamp the wheels with an enamel color, rather than colored chrome, must be in the machinery or process or something, except I thought they had done enamel colors in the past....colored chrome wheels is just one of those things that bugs me, so I always wonder why oh why. :D
but they aren't so bad on this I guess.

The old Seagrave looks good in yellow - hope to see a white one in the future.

Passed on this one on Black Friday. The yellow metallic just does not look as great as the red of the first release.

Beautiful model!

Unfortunately, people across the pond have done nothing but complain about it. I am sooo excited to hear their moaning when the 1963 Mack B Pumper is released in 2014 . . .

One of the realities of doing vintage type models for any country. Chances are most of them will not be popular outside of the intended market. I thought the Seagrave might be better received simply because it is a fire engine and there are many fire/emergency collectors out there. I know for myself since I collect emergency vehicles I enjoy adding vintage models from any part of the world - but do understand in the toy business mfg's really need to try and concentrate on models that will do well in many markets.

Let them moan, Matchbox is a North American Company now.
They are sad that Matchbox does not coddle their side anymore.

But what can they expect? That is how companies work. I am baffled that some people don't see that. Just think about car companies, and when they buy each other out. Eventually, everything transitions to the state-of-purchase. For example, you can see lots of Fiat trickling into Chrysler already, as they are trying to make Chrysler a more economical and reasonable Italian brand, rather than a big, bold, blitzy American one.

It is just how the world's corporations work. If Matchbox ever turned over to a UK company, half of the cars in the lineup would be boring-as-dust Lancias and Peugeots.
