Matchbox Collector

Wow. What a nice Matchbox model. I would probably kill for MB771 '09 Ford E-350 Ambulance to have a metal-body like that. |

Nice model Dave, I didn't get this when it was out, either I never seen one at a store or just didn't have the money to spend at the time, but wished I'd had found one, then 3-4 years ago or so I ran across one in a blister at a flea market for $5 and grabbed it...I was happy.

One of the more subtle uses for this one, but looks great. I've never seen it before. |

I don't think this was one of the easier ones to find in the Premiere series. I never saw it in stores and got mine in a deal with another collector a few years back. Since my father had been in the USAF for close to 30 years it was high on my want list and was glad when I finally added it to my collection - my only wish that it had been a USAF Ambulance rather than the flight crew transport. |

It was very hard to find in the stores. I never did. And our stores around seemed to have plenty of the Premieres. I finally found one on a certain auction site. |

Station Wagon

On first look, I thought it was a custom! A bus would make more sense, like the School Bus, but unless this was meant to be a base station ambulance reserved only for USAF personnel it would be more fitting. Using an ambulance casting as a shuttle bus is kind of wonky. |

Theory was it was for the U2 spy plane pilots who fly at high altitudes like the space shuttle crew members also have special transport. |
