My best guess on the black Viper would be Yatming by the wheels...but that would be the first I recall of Yat copying HW. I don't have a clue regarding the other one. |

I don't have these, and this is the first I've seen of them, so I can't give you any definitive answer. The plastic Viper has similarities to Kai Jal. I am not suggesting it is Kai Jal - there are too many distinct differences. Kai Jal also copied other manufacturer's castings (Realtoy and Norev). All of the Kai Jal castings have "K J" on the base, rather than a number, and the Kai Jal cars have metal bodies, and rivets instead of screws. The wheels have a similar design, but Kai Jal wheels are simply copies of a Realtoy wheel style. The 5-spoke wheels on this Viper do look similar to the low-profile no-sidewall 6-spoke wheels Yat Ming used, but there's no way this could be Yat Ming. The wheels also look similar to those used on Maisto, but alas, there's no way it is a Maisto. Repeat: I am NOT proposing that the plastic black Viper is a Kai Jal, but that's the closest brand it reminds me of. A link to Kai Jal pictures here on Swifty's: CLICK HERE |

I'd have to say the last one is Suntoys, until proven otherwise. All of the identity quirks, including the wheels, point to Suntoys. Entirely possible that it comes from an unknown copycat company, but I'd say it is equally probable that it is a second Suntoys casting. |

Originally I thought that Suntoys revamped their casting by touching up the tooling which would actually make the car a little larger but after looking closer this casting is slightly smaller which suggests it's a copy. This casting also has better lines than the original so I thought OK Suntoys made a better copy but 3 years later and all Suntoys released as Suntoys are coming out with the original casting they even updated the most recent Suntoys to include an interior. I will say I am also considering it a 2nd casting of Suntoys but I think it is made by someone else just like the plastic "Suntoys" Vipers that I believe are copies. Here is the only one of this casting I found packaged in the Rite-Aid store packing...

Dean do you think these plastic vipers are also Suntoys? I think they are copy cats but still classify them as plastic Suntoys.![]() ![]() This next one was packed as Teorema ![]() ![]() |

The fact that others are out there, with the same unique headlights and design features, but with different wheels, solidify your case that it is far more likely a copy. I am so skeptical that the gray plastic one is also Suntoys, that I'd bet money against it. So, whatever (unknown at this time) company that copied the Suntoys Viper, also copied their wheels. The others, could be the same unknown company, or more completely different, also unknown companies. The China toy trade is a wickedly weaved maze! |

Dean also the Wheels are nearly half the width of the Suntoys version its a little tough to see in the photos as the wheels on the copy lean because the inner parts of the wheels don't have the same support. On the carded eXite version they further altered the wheels and removed the ridge.
