It is a new one to me. While I have read the Breithaupts material I don't recall this particular article on this series.

So did these predate Hot Wheels, or were they part of the rush of competition soon afterward?

Funny that it "sold" with 2 "bidders" driving the price up to $263. But then was re-listed with a start price of $399. I don't trust that seller any farther than I can drown him.

since one of those listed is a 1969 concept car.i would guess they are
from around 1970 or so.but i could be wrong.

I've never heard of Hitoys, but reading the Breithaupts article makes me wonder if there is some connection with Marx, simply because they also mis-spelled "Dino Ferrari" as "Uno Ferrari" on their baseplates around the same time.

It says reserve not met on the first auction.

I never even bother on those auctions. People are testing the water. They'll likely never sell it until is surpasses the price they paid for it (likely they overpaid an extravagant amount).

Greetings Tball387, we generally discourage sales and trades until we get to know you. Stick around awhile and get to know us and we you, and then sales will be welcome.
