Don't have many of the Impy Lone Stars but do have that copper version of the Eldorado. The earlier version with tire rack is obviously leap years ahead of the later one. |

The 60s Eldorado is one of my favorite Caddys, so yeah, I like this one. Don't have a copy yet, but they are on my radar. Those are very nice examples! |

Nice items, Rob I've got a soft spot for Lone Star. I can just imagine what a disappointment the 1976 Impy series must have been to anyone who had been collecting the truly great original Impy/Flyers series. Another proud old-world manufacturer struggling to fend off of the competition from cheap Asian imports. I think the Maserati Mistral is the nicest of the post-'76 Impys, and we mustn't overlook Lone Star's final great contribution to the small-scale diecast world - they gave us undoubtedly the best proportioned model of the original Range Rover (in 5 different guises - civilian/Police/Fire/Ambulance/Coastguard). For that at least, we can be very thankful!Post-1976 Impy Maserati Mistral ![]() Range Rover ![]()

To me the Lonestar Cadillac is one of the most disappointing models released. I have the earlier models with all the nice opening features, jeweled lights, etc. I can recall when I got the Cadillac wondering if it really was from the same series or company. Mind you this was back in the '70's when all the other brands still had opening features and interiors...and had also just discovered this interesting toy company from Japan called Tomica.

What's the story with the tire rack on the roof? Was it supposed to be some sort of a rally car? |
