Found in the mail today after a deal with a Facebook friend on a diecast group I co-run, after being on the hunt for one for the better part of a decade.

Even better than finding one is finding one in good shape. Yours looks in great condition.

Thanks everyone! It feels kind of odd seeing it sitting on the Rubbermaid tub full of CDs and filled 48-count Tara cases that I use as a coffee table with my JL '57 Chevy hearses and a HW Infiniti G35 that I swapped gold lace wheels onto, let alone picking it up. I'm gonna wrap it up in gauze and put it in a case so I don't damage the decals.

Congratulations on getting your grail. It's a great feeling. That's a very cool car, but I have to ask, why are there Toyota decals on a Skyline?

Thanks again, from what I hear about the decals is that it was an error in Zylmex's design department.

Makes sense. Any Skyline is a nice Skyline and yours is definitely cool. Having the Toyota on there almost makes it even cooler because you can now you can use it as a sort of auto trivia litmus test.

I used to see smallish pictures of this model on various places online and thought it was a Toyota Crown, then one day I found out the truth and that it was sort of an "oops" moment for Zylmex.

Even though it isn't a 'Yota, I still would like to add one to my collection one day - it is a neat little model, with a neat bit of trivia behind it. :D

Congrats on your find, but I think after so long a hunt, you should get a small clear acrylic case and have it out on display, then you'll get to enjoy looking at it a while.

It's always great getting a diecast you've coveted for a long time. I know that I've had that feeling more times than I can count.

:duh: It flew right past me at first...now I get it. This is like a Ford Camaro, or maybe a Chevy Mustang, right?

Cool conversation piece. Congrats on an interesting score. But then, you have a nose for locating interesting diecast. You could hire yourself out to go shopping with people as a guide. make money to buy more diecast...LOL!

Congrats Chris, for finding your grail. There is way too much of diecast collecting that I just don't get. That is entirely my problem. I am sure people look at me and wonder why I need 2000 Mustangs.
