Gulf Petroleum Leyland Lorry by "Best Choose"

After collecting Ferrari's, my next favorite thing to collect are diecast Gulf Racing and Gulf Oil vehicles. I love racing and I love petroliana and Gulf is my favorite of both. I've always loved Gulf Racing cars, but the collection started with a Kyosho Ford GT40 and has snowballed from there. Some of you have probably seen some of it on other boards, but I'm always adding to it and I hope to do a group post with everything soon for everyone here. This is the newest Gulf addition. It is a Leyland Lorry in 1/76 scale by a Hong Kong company called "Best Choose", name lost in translation I'm guessing. It's got two removable plastic pieces of different sized tanks that can either be stored in the bed or on the roof of the cab. I'm actually pretty impressed with the quality, the casting is nice and the details and tampos are pretty well done. I normally try to stick to 1/64 but since it is a truck it still fits nicely size wise with the others.

That is cool. I'd grab one in a heartbeat, if given the chance, and the price were within reason.

That's a nice looking truck, I like models with Gulf logos.

The name is funny, my first thought was they were trying to say "best choice" or something like that. :D

I see it as more of a threat, actually. You "Best Choose" this truck, or else.....

What a unique casting, I really dig this truck. I have never seen this piece at all but now I feel compelled that I must choose one for myself!

Wow! Dare I say, this could rival Tomica Limited Vintage in detail? Beautiful truck.

It probably was. Because "choose" and "choice" are roughly the same meaning. One of those instances where the Japanese/Chinese doesn't translate properly into English.
