I read the Winston Cup Scene in 1990 and there was this guy named Mark Martin who drove a Ford and actually was competitive with Dale

Earnhardt who a course drove a Chevy. I never had anything against a Chevrolet really I just always defended people who were picked

on and I loved underdogs and a course that was Ford. Well Mark Martin was really consistent that year not as intimidating or as fast

as Earnhardt but actually made it a little harder on the then hero Ironhead. You can say he almost won the Championship but it wasn't

meant to be. Not that he was unlucky but he got cheating on one race. Some illegal engine set up I remember but it cost him the

Championship because he lost it to Dale Earnhardt by just a few points. I always liked Mark until he started to race Chevrolet for

Rick Hendrick in Nascar. I don't really know why he left Ford because he and Davey Allison carried the Ford Banner pretty much in

those days but it was years later when he went to Hendrick after a idea of retiring once. Maybe Jack Roush was forced to let him go

because of new drivers with new sponsorship like Jeff Burton was.

Well today Ford isn't even a factor in today's world you know it's bad when Toyota out runs you.

Thanks for the pictures Daniel - I am a long time Mark Martin fan (even in these later years as he drove Chevrolet's and Toyota's).

This is a nice set of pictures. I really appreciate this since Mark Martin might just be my most favorite Nascar driver. It's such a shame that he never won a championship, one (1990) of which he could have won had there been no points deducted from him.

I would really enjoy having one of these '90 Thunderbirds with the Folgers sponsorship.

This 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Aeroback was sitting on my desk, and it seemed fitting to add pictures here. This was Tim Richmond's car (not a name I am familiar with....I had to look up the driver for this car, as I couldn't read the signature on the roof). The model is made by Action.

Tim Richmond was a very good driver and was known as a wildman with the ladies and was predicted to be one of the greats but died because of his lifestyle. Beautiful car.
