These two were reunited again while cataloging my diecast collection. The taxi was bought individually for about $7 last year, and the purple one was from a huge lot.

And want to know something funny? The phone number (which is probably 30 or 40 years old now) actually belongs to a real cab company! San Francisco Yellow Cab (116 Crespi Dr., San Francisco, CA 94132)

Ouch! The hammer time. A lot of my cheap Chinese cars got that fate when I was a kid. Never hurt the Matchbox or Hot Wheels, just the cheapo cars.

I knew I still didn't have the taxi, but I didn't even know they did civilian versions. All I have is a fire chief, not even the police car yet.

If memory serves, I've seen this casting and some of these versions (Fire, Police, Army) in multi-packs sold as Model Power for railroad setups. As late as this casting was in the game for Playart, it seems it is usually found with those five spoke wheels that came at the very end, very seldom with the five petal wheels.
