i had picked up a rl 57 as an upgrade.when i got it i noticed that it is darker than the one i had.i called a 57 guy and was told that both the rl and first issue of the bw had the red and dark red variations.but i have not seen the rl varis listed.the bw where issued in two different years.that may account for the vari... ![]() ![]() ![]() bw dark red...red......side by side. ![]() ![]() ![]() i then noticed that both of the dark reds have the same paint flaw on the trunk decks.

If they were mine (and vans) then they would have a home together in my cases. I love variations like this. |

There's a slight shade variance but I'm not sure it's a true variation in my book. I'd never notice the difference if they weren't next to one another. |

Both Chevy's both great castings of a classic automobile, you should keep them both, or send them both to me for safekeeping. LOL J |

One of my favorite castings.I can also see the slight difference in the paint color although would not consider it a variation. My "guess" is that Mattel wanted the same exact red color however paint batches can vary from one to the next so its more of a quality control issue.Sweet cars at any rate. My 2 cents Eric |

This would be my opinion on the color difference as well. |

I agree. I've seen alot of castings with slight varients in the paint but myself I wouldn't call it a variation. |
