I arrived at 12:05 pm to a parking lot with about 10 Swifty board members loitering around the cars. Meet and greet. Then 12 of us went to the local Diner together. I had some business to do in my room, the rest went to a Toy Store "Outback ?". I unloaded the van 8 bins, four large boxes, two milk crates into my HUUUUUGH room. I could hold the show in it. King sized bed, desk, TV, microwave, 15 ft x 25 ft sized room.

Overall there may be 20 board members here already or on their way. The Gravity "banger" track has been constructed and the room has tables but is not set up yet.

I'm in the same boat. Events beyond my control took away a chance for me to attend. I WILL BE THERE IN '15!!!.

Hope everyone has fun this year and we get to see some pics.

Sounds like a good time 2 me!! I'm all packed up and ready to go. Denver is only 1hr away from me, so I'll probably leave by 7am. I'm looking forward to the Banger track and I'm hoping to get in some pre-race runs on the Expert drag track.

Trade and Sale tables finally layed out and those who could setup

Lots of diecast from all manufacturers. JL (Playing Mantis and that other company), Matchbox (current, 80s' and lesney), Auto World, M2's, Ho Cars (Tyco, Aurora, LifeLike) and so on. Rick2400 has a who MESS of custom repaints, wheel swaps and more more more.

I brought a little bit of this, and that, lots of loose items for the kids, some expensive HTF items and boxes of Playing Mantis Muscle Cars Round 1 (mostly from Series 9 until the end).and Round 2 (all releases). Didn't even get a chance to put them out because I only got 2 tables

Hutt was off his rocker (but funny), Sean "Swifty" Car history man was exhibiting his knowleged of diecast and REAL cars. :bowing:

DadsCoronet flirting with the waitress with the cast at lunch was interesting. It isn't every day someone remembers you by having a cast on your foot over a year ago. One thing I have learned after meeting a number of YOU guys at the original Johnny Jam is you walk away with fond memories of the goofiness these toys bring out in these OLD FARTS. The talent there is that make BEAUTIFUL CUSTOM CARS is just amazing. I get great ideas but my time and execution are lacking. The 2 or so hours we all spent in the conference room setting up and jabbering away was a special treat. It's difficult to remember all the REAL NAMES to the Screen names, but I think having the name tags tomorrow will help. I'm gonna be writing all them down because I've lost my mind over the years :duh: and it's frustrating when people know ME and I haven't got a clue :duh:

Well it's time for my beauty rest. I'm gonna get up early to freshen up, dress for selling and eat some FREE GRUB. Then off to the conference room to finish up some loose ends and bring out more goodies. If I get coverage in the conference room I will sign in and give some updates of the festivities. I'll be selling so I won't be doing much picture taking but it sounds like some others will be. Live Long and Prosper, and get your butts down here if you can. I'm glad I was finally able to make it.

It's just after 7 a.m. on Saturday and my wife is on her laptop playing Kaneva; I'm about to hop in the shower then run and have breakfast with the boys. Then the trading floor will be open for business. As DaleFan said, if you can, get on out here. Lots of great diecast!

I'll just continue this thread. It's 9:30am on Saturday, vendors are almost set up, lots of buying going on already. Some trading. Track maintenance crews are busy getting the tracks ready for action.

Swifty is doing his best to take photos of board members. Lots of familar screen names here already. Very laid back crowd so far, it must be the Spring-like weather that has finally hit the Northeast. Vendors from upstate New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Long Island (NY). More reports later in the day, gotta get to customers.

Sounds like you folks are having a great time. I am glad that weather is nice because I heard it was a monster last year. Good to hear that there is going to be a great turnout and I wish I could be there.

1st group of BANGER racing is done, 2nd is about to start after the Gravity racing brackets are finished.

Raffles are going on right now for an ORganizer TSHirt, sealed box of Forever 64 series 24 and other cool prizes. $1 a ticket, 6 for $5.

Not a HUGH crowd, but seems to be a steady flow of purchasing. LOTS of White Lightnings, Treasure Hunts, Green Machines, Matchbox Lesney, Siku, Majorette, Tomica etc... I'm going home with a bunch of stuff for my collection and to resell up in my area.

I finally met DaveWeber, after all these years on most of the well known boards. Visited with SOME of the Johnny Jammers from the Rhode Island get together at Dave Antonelli's house. Ricky2400 is a piece of work, crawling under tables looking for bargains to turn into pieces of diecast Art.

Was planning on coming, but my Jeep starter is acting up, and the HHR has a tire losing air ( again, had it fixed 2 weeks ago, then started leaking again last week...sigh). Oh well, won't make it in '14, will try for '15 next year.

Well after 6 hours in a van I made it home. Left at 11am made it to the Antique Store where i have two cases and discovered I sold $150 worth this weekend.

It never fails, every time I drive through Scranton/Wilkes Barre PA, there is either pouring rain, snow, or a traffic jam because of construction or accident. This time it was a bloody accident with all the DIMWIT Looky Loos taking phone videos of the emergency workers and police sorting out the mess. Traffic backed up for two mile. The PA state police almost rear ended an idiot who was weaving onto the shoulder of lane one. Lights going, siren and this idiot in front of me just barely got out of the police car's way.

Thanks to Sean "Swifty" I went TOLL FREE on my return route and got the scenic view of middle PA. Damn MapQuest is pissing me off with IT's idea of a direct route. grrrrr

Dragnet Supporter won the raffle for the ONLY GREEN LIGHTNING of the Event Cars. The white Mustang with GREEN WHEELS. One of One for an investment of $10.00. Bray was a true gentleman as he won the FIRST raffle and offered it up for a second go around. Two Thumbs up.

I got back home shortly after three yesterday. The return trip was a bit quicker as the detoured roads were more clearly marked. I had a heck of a time getting out there and a long confusing drive, thanks to Google maps and their great service.

The one of a kind GM event car i won was not for an investment of $10, but $5. I was not even in the first round of the raffle because my cash was gone. I was fairly limited this year and spent the last of it on Saturday afternoon.

It was through the kindness of WLPaul, who said I should be in the raffle and bought me some tickets that I won. Which makes it so much more meaningful as well.

It was a great time. Very glad I went even with limited means. As some of were discussing, it's really about the people. And with such a great group, you always walk away with a bit more than you expect.

Extra special thanks to DadsCoronet and Roadwarrior who let me bunk with them on a roll-away bed and made this trip more economically possible for me.

Like I said, just amazing people!

It was certainly good to see and hang out with everyone again this year. Those event cars were made possible by the generosity of the admins over at Greenlight. Katie and Josh were very receptive to helping out. I explained that it was a grass roots event and that it represented everything good about the hobby. I invited them to attend, maybe next year! They shipped me 30 Dioramas with 2 cars ech, the Shelby Mustang and the red Vette. I thought they were excellent choices. This is what I received from them, free of charge. They received custom tampos and were sold to help with the costs of putting on the event. If anyone is interested in a set I'm sure Sean and Rick would like to see them go to good homes.

There are 29 packages in the pic, the 30th contained a Green Machine Mustang that was raffled off, again, to support the event. Robert won it, and everyone enjoyed seeing the smile on his face.

Glad you got some Vernor's Rick, someone said Wegman's carried it, I checked mine here in VA and did not see it.
