Busy show! We had to scrounge up more tables to meet demand. We also tried a new room setup that allowed us to maximize vendor space.

Outback Toys looks like my kinda place to plunk down a few hundred bucks pretty quick. The Banger Racing is right up my alley. I'm starting to save $ now for the 2015 Carnival. Events outside of my control kept me from going this year. Next year without a doubt I'll be there. Thanks for posting the pics Swifty.

Nice pics Sean. Looks like you guys filled a whole room at Stoudts!

I wasn't there very long during the actual even this year but I got to greet a lot of the guys as they arrived on Friday and go out to lunch with a few and got to do a lot of socializing later in the evening on Saturday. Had a blast. Can't wait till next year!

Hey, somebody's missing from all of these photos. Wonder who that could be... Maybe, it's the world-famous SWIFTY himself!

Posted Image

I wanted to comment about a few of the pictures. In the first "Banger" shot, my #73 "Fat-Fendered 40" was mint on a blue card just 24 hours before that shot was taken! The lavender paint that the car originally wore made the red Sharpie that I used on the roof and fenders turn out as a nice looking, period-correct maroon. All model race cars that I've built since I was a kid, except for replicas of actual cars, have worn the number 73.

In the first Two Cousins Pizza photo, why'd you photoshop it to make me look so fat???

In "I wonder what all these people are looking at", Rose and I, at the far right side of the shot, are at the Kiddie kar Kollectibles table, looking for a good, heavy car for Rose to go banger racing with!

I like your photos of Rick's customs. The pics I took came out terribly. My little pocket camera doesn't dop well without a flash and there was too much reflection from his mirrored display case. I brought home the Cadillac Allante Indy Pace Car in the second row from the top near the left side. The man does great work and his prices are great too!

I'm pretty sure those pictures were posted with the sole intent to get you there next year!

I myself plan on attending in 2015 as well. The $$$ priority is solely on my 1:1 machines right now, but this time next year there will be some left to make it up to PA. I missed it and can't wait for next year!

Great pics of the event! Becky and I had a great time once again ( This was our third Carnival!) and hope to make it and again next year. The people are what makes this so much fun. It was nice to talk with old friends and meet some new faces as well. Thanks to everyone who makes this happen!!!

Here's my goodies I was able to stuff in my saddlebags...

Looking at everyone's comments has inspired me. If you didn't make it to Carnival this year, then make it in 2015. A great deal of effort goes into this show every year from a whole host of people with Swifty being a major contributor. This isn't a show where you're constantly gouged or have to worry about being trampled by people sprinting towards chase cars. Having met a few of the people that were at this year's show I can personally testify to the great camaraderie that takes place. It's still a relatively small show but WE can all change that. It's possible for a large deal to grow into something larger yet still keep the small time charm. The Garage is a perfect example of that. Let's all make to Carnival in 2015.

Zach...when we saw the inside of that toy store, you were the first person that came to mind. It is a good show. I've attended all but two. No one get trampled going after chase car...LOL! And from year to year it becomes more of a gathering of friends and aquaintances. There's usually as much talk about just catching up on what's happening with everyone as there is about toy cars. After hours usually finds people split into groups just talking into the night. The little side trips, like the toy store, are always very interesting. There is always much diecast, raffles, event cars, and the racing is always fun.

Welcome back, Nick.
Great to see you posting.
And we know that CARnival wouldn't be CARnival without you making an appearance, even if it is only briefly.

Sean, great pictures that are extremely interesting to view.
Now we know what Robert looks like!
The shocker was seeing Roarwarrior there.
That would have been a highlight for me.
And I'm glad that the diecast shop pictured is NOT any where close to me because I would be broke ALL the time.
What a great looking store.
Nothing like that within several hundred miles of me.
Maybe that is a blessing.

If CARnival was within 500 or 600 miles of me I would definitely be there.
Thanks to all who have commented here and/or posted pictures.
Another successful event this year.
FANtastic.

Cheers. Cobra

Was it that obvious? :D Why do you think I've been begging you for years to come out for this show.

They did have a lot of International Harvester items... The whole décor could pass for an IH dealership.

To everyone who's interested in coming - there's a whole year between now and the next show. Start saving up and hopefully we'll see you in 2015!

Zach, Leigh, David, Jack, Joe - it would be great to see all of you next year. Cobra, Paul - you'll both be there in spirit. Someday perhaps the stars will align and let you both attend.

I can honestly say you won't be disappointed in anything other than how fast the weekend goes by. ;)

It was very encouraging to see many new faces among the many familiar faces. It is encouraging to me because it is a sign that KDC will continue as one of the main east coast die cast gatherings. It's a great event to share and build friendships, even though it might be the only time of year people see each other.
Personally, I was really looking forward to checking out downtown Lititz after going to Outback Toys but Mother Nature literally put a damper on that excursion (although I did see several people walking around the shops in the rain as we headed back to Denver). There is always next year.....
Sean, you are so right --- the only disappointment about CARnival is how fast time flies! I got to the hotel at 12:30 pm Friday, blinked, then found myself leaving the hotel at 11:50 am Sunday.
Next year, I am hoping that Hutt and I are not the only attendees from New England......

I would have loved to have been there to meet Swifty, Nick, Mark, Robert, and Brad (Roadwarrior) in person.
I'm really happy to know that Roadwarrior is still around and has an interest in diecast and still associating with the many friends that he has made over the years while collecting diecast and posting on certain excellent diecast sites (including one that is now deceased).
That would have been a blast.
It would have been nice to have met Bray, too.
Can you just imagine the conversations.
Such a wonderful group of people.

Cheers. Cobra

It was a great time as always. And yes, time does fly. So much in fact that I usually remember that I brought my camera about dinner time on Saturday and it's too late! Thanks for sharing the pics Sean. Looking forward to next year already, it is, for me, the official kick-off for spring/summer.
