New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
I love that casting. I've been picking some up for future customs. It's #19 in the 2nd Mystery Car series, and has a metal base.

Flubber!
Right close! I had to do a double take and make sure it wasn't the Johnson-Grossfield.

I think this casting is underrated. It is a really nice casting, and even the busy graphics Matty has put on it are better than most. Saw it in the mainline for awhile, a couple premium issues, then it disappeared. Haven't seen any new versions in some time now.

 Spring is a great time to do some bird watching - and nothing better than watching this nice red ThunderBIRD! Great Thunderbird casting from Hot Wheels.

Here's the Johnson-Grossfield just for comparison sake. This was made as a promotional piece for the Robin Williams version of the Flubber movie.

Apart from the wheels...which almost resemble 80s era Road Champs...and the color being slightly more pink than red...and the Tbird emblem on the front fenders of the JG (missing on the HW)...from the side they are pretty darn close.

Thanks for showing that Johnson-Grossfield version. I didn't know about this one!
