I would suggest two models. I researched and found photos of old models Hubley and I think are good models for AW or JL produce in their new Castings (the Hubleys are impossible to buy):

I can't remember which wagon I came across when I looked up these two cars a while back, but, given the type of castings we get from Auto World, these two would fit rather well.

Mk III (1969-71)

Much like the already done Caddy, the last *true* big boat was '76, like this Mk IV. BTW, a '76 Tbird would be most appropriate as well. '77 marked the start of downsizing...as shown with the Tbird lookalike above. While big, it is noticeably smaller than the 76. The 76s dwarf everything that came after.

Posted Image

For reference on the Tbird.
yatming did this car but it would look great in the autoworld line with greater detail to make it "pop"

That's a Dodge isn't it but what? Is that a Charger?
Marlin. I believe the 65 is considered a Rambler, the 66 and 67 are considered AMC. This is the forerunner of the AMX / Javelin.

The Marlin was originally going to be based on the smaller American frame ( Tarpon show car, Google it ), but the Man in Charge decided to put it on the Ambassador chassis. A flawed decision, the car was too big to be really sporty, and didn't match any profiles for muscle car or 2 + 2 car at all. So it didnt' sell well. The Javelin/AMX was based off the 1966 Vignale show car, and while much of AMC design did reuse other cars pieces, the sporty 2 seater AMX and 2 + 2 Javelin were not based off the Marlin at all, which was a fancy Ambassador chassis. They were their own design for the most part. Again, AMC used many of the same parts for ALL of their cars, from door handles to other pieces, but the Marlin was unique in it's own right, and shared little but mechanical components with other cars. The Matador Coupe and Pacer were two later models that also were fairly unique which shared few if any body parts, and were also not successful financially as the more basic and generic models like American, Gremlin, Hornet, Spirit, etc.

I'm familiar with the Tarpon, though that is a name I haven't heard in years. I don't need to look it up.

The Marlin was replaced in the line by the AMX / Javelin as the newly formed AMC consolidated their lineup. You are correct, they did not share any parts, the Javelin was all new and served as the halo car for the new company.

Unlike the other car builders at the time, Rambler (and by extension, AMC at the beginning) had no factory racing and no racing support. The upper brass felt it was a waste of resources, and that is likely correct seeing AMC was behind the eight ball from the very beginning and never did quite overcome that deficit. Keep in mind this was the era when a win on Sunday translated to sales on Monday. By the time of the Javelin, there was a bit more support from the factory for racing, as evidenced by Mark Donohue's competitive Javelin. The only Marlin racer I am aware of was a drag racer in the Stock Car class and he was quite literally on his own (its not like he could order a COPO big block and related paraphernalia from the parts department), and while competitive he never won.

Here's a borrowed image of the Bill Kraft altered wheelbase gasser

Posted Image

Again Bill Kraft, I presume this is the same car above.

Like I said....I had a 65 Marlin....LOVED that car, but I didn't have two nickels to rub together at the time, and sadly I had to let it go. I would take another in a heartbeat.

Posted Image

Bill Kraft again, but this is clearly not an altered wheelbase and a different paint scheme.

I'd like to see someone make this rare auto. If Auto World decides to include some Italian cars at some point, that is.

Pretty please Auto World, can you make the new Ford GT? Ford even is wanting you to, look they already came out with a full scale Ultra Red version. If that's not a hint, I don't know what is.

I'd LOVE to see a 1961 Oldsmobile Starfire convertible (with the aluminum side paneling!), an F-85, and a Fiesta wagon, all from Olds that year.

Also would love to see the 1960 to 1962 Valiant. Love the early 1960's, but these gems seem to be overlooked between the flashy Fifties chrome and fin cars, and the Rumbling late 1960s muscle cars. Long live the designs of Bill Mitchell, Elwood Engel, and Virgil Exner!!!!!!!!!

And, since Auto World is the only 1/64 manufacturer that I know of to release a Hennessey car, the Hennessy Camaro, I'd like to see others if that would be possible.

I'm just hoping for more recolors. I've only got 16 versions of the Firebird Trans Am, for example, but if I can get 48 variations, I can fill an entire Jammer.
