I purchased this lot on May 30, 2014 for $75.34. The seller was one of those people that just took a photo of the box and said "have at it".

Well, guess what? What was in the box made the high price worthwhile! There was a 1973 enamel Hiway Robber, as well as the TurboTrax Porsche! The lot also saw some puppyhood cars return to me, some nicer upgrades to cars I already have, as well as some I didn't have.

It's why i love buying these kinds of boxes. Money well spent! :)

Nice score! Some good vintage stuff in there, I don't see anything newer than about the year 2000+/-, most from the 80s.

Now that I have a bit of time to look closer, I see a black flamed Porsche beside the Got Milk Dairy Delivery. Can we see that one better, please? If it is what I think it is, it is a grail of set cars, second only perhaps to the Great Getaway Paddy Wagon, eclipsing even the Mountain Mining truck.

Oh it is. I feinted myself when I saw it!

What's the story behind the Porsche? I'm not really in the know when it comes to vintage Hot Wheels

Initially this casting was released as a redline, with a very different paint/tampo pattern. There are chrome versions with this tampo that are fairly common, although any of them are darn near impossible to find without damage to the tampo. The chrome ones, depending on condition, if displayable with minimal tampo rubs start in the $10 and up category...I've never seen one I would call mint. This makes maybe the third black version I've ever seen, which was released only in a playset back in the mid70s. Consequently there weren't many made, and most of those got played with...hard. Like this one. http://www.southtexasdiecast.com/hwguide/p911.html

*If* it were mint, that is a $500.00 car, easily. Again, I've never seen a mint one, and the other two were playworn but not quite so bad as this one, and they brought over $100.00 each.

As tatty as it is, that one piece alone was worth the price of admission on this box lot.

Who made the silver and black wrecker? Could you post a close up pic of it?

That lot covers nearly all eras. Regular Wheel Matchbox from the '60s, Superfast Matchbox and Redline Hot Wheels from the '70s, Yat Mings, and Micro Machines from the '80s, various from the '90s, and a General Mills stock car, as well as many HWs and MB's from about ten years ago.

You have 3 gold Summer cars in one of the pictures - a Toyota Celica, a Mercedes 500 SEC and a Porsche 911.
Is the Celica in fact gold? I've never seen one in that color before, and now I am intrigued!
I have the gold Mercedes and Porsche, but different wheels on my Mercedes. I'd like to find that gold Celica and the wheel variation on the Mercedes! Thanks for showing them!

I don't have a photo, but that silver and black tow truck is a painted HO-diorama plastic model.

Not my auction, but here it is. HO Scale Plastic Tow Truck

Yes, all three of them are gold. The one with the gray wheels actually has rubber wheels and a pull-back motor in it. I don't collect pull-backs, but I kept this one because it's within 1/64th size, made by Summer, and it looks good.

Sorry, I don't have them handy at the moment, so I cannot read the base names/numbers. The Mercedes with the whitewall tires I actually have already in silver, so the gold is a nice addition.

I picked one up from John awhile back, nice enough for what it is, but it is tiny and it is hollow plastic...think tootsietoy but plastic and very small. The detail is decent though, especially for the time it was made (mid-late 60s)

Great classic stuff, man! I have the larger scale Mercedes ambulance in the first picture. I have had it since my youth! Even as a grown man I still LOVE the OPENING doors, especially the REAR DOORS! We need MORE ambulance models with those features today! God Bless!

Haha, yeah. I have a number of cars like that. Some kid went wild with dad's Testors paint. lol I've never seen the Kenner "Fun-E" car myself, but have a few of the Kenners already. Unfortunately most all are missing their license plates.

Also, I came across this just now.

It's a box-set of Summer's pull-back versions of their models. #SM8673

It's fun to see the different finds people make looking at the photos. I spotted that HW Porsche too. I would probably have passed on the auction and missed out on the treasure. Good job!

Isn't there some gambler's saying about that? If you're willing to take the gamble, you come out ahead or something like that. :)
