I may have shared this with some of you before, but I thought it deserves showing again...

Being a bit of a "fire nerd" I find myself not only collecting toy fire engines but all kinds of things related to toy fire engines and the fire service. Case in point...

I came across an old issue of "Firemen" magazine from August of 1963 which predated me by almost a decade.

Inside I happened across an article showing some of the latest "fire" toys on the market -

Aside from having a cool article that I have since framed and hung in my firehouse, I appreciate knowing that even before I was born firemen before me had an interest in die cast toy fire vehicles. Puts a smile on my face every time I walk through the firehouse and see that picture.

Stay safe out there!

A classic that I didn't own as a kid....well, at least not until well into my "second childhood".

A classic indeed! Unlike you Sammy, I was around then and remember buying the Fairlane Fire Chief car - as a kid kept wondering why it had a white roof light - still wonder about that one.

Maybe the white light goes with the white helmet.....

Oh, wow, this is kind of a "then and now" pic, too!
