General Motors' first major redesign post-World War II, the Advance Design series was billed as a bigger, stronger, and sleeker design. First available on Saturday June 28, 1947, these trucks were sold with various minor changes over the years until March 25, 1955, when the Task Force Series trucks replaced the aging Advance Design model.

The same basic design family was used for all of its trucks including the Suburban, panel trucks. and, Cab Overs. The cab overs used the same cab and similar grill but used a shorter and taller hood and different fenders.

From 1947 until 1955, Chevrolet trucks were number one in sales in the United States.

While GMC used this front end, and to a slightly lesser extent the cab, on all of its trucks except for the Cab Overs, there are three main sizes of this truck: the half-, three-quarter-, and full ton capacities in short and long wheelbase.

The Muscle Machines' Jesse James series was only a blip on the radar for a lot of collectors, coming at a time when the company was being sold to Action. Consequently, many of the models from this remarkable series are rather hard to find. I knew this model was out there, but I wasn't aware of this color until I found it in Jimi's recent sale. Thank you Jimi!

I had a few of the Jesse James cars - the lower suspension feature was rather unique. I don't recall ever seeing this purple version.

It is a pretty good looking truck.

I think I had the Mustang Lawn Mower and F-150 Nut Shaker from that series, but they all got trashed.

Is the horse a Breyer?

The horse is more of a nayer... :D

I don't know who made the horse, it came in a playset I picked up at the flea market already opened and loose in a ziplock baggie. It came with jockeys and a couple other horses, a trophy, some jumps and bales of hay, that sort of thing. It is the prettiest of the horses from that batch and about the right scale, so I slipped it into the pic.

As for the MM Jesse James transformers, I've left those alone...I just don't care for them. If you like them, that's what matters!

It's a little harder to tell with this one than with some of the other models. That and a couple of the first pics with the suspension lowered didn't turn out as well so I trashed them.

Here are two new pics, the first lowered, the second raised

That is very sharp and amazing the rear-end isn't sagging like some of those other diecast trucks.
