Today's car truck of the day is Eligor's 2009 Dacia Logan Pickup.

Wikipedia

The Dacia Logan is a small family car produced jointly by the French manufacturer Renault and its Romanian subsidiary Dacia since 2004. It is currently at its second generation and has been manufactured at Dacia's automobile plant in Mioveni, Romania, and at Renault's plants in Morocco, Brazil, Turkey, Russia, Colombia, Iran, India and South Africa.

Eligor made this (and some other Renault models) for Renault Toys - a 3" diecast line sold through Renault dealerships, which consisted of Renault & Dacia vehicles, replicated by Norev, Universal Hobbies, and Eligor. I have never seen a Dacia in person, but I still enjoy having cars from all over the world in my collection. The opening metal tailgate adds a bonus touch of play-ability.

Wikipedia

The pickup utility version of the Logan, also based on the MCV, was introduced on 10 September 2007 (4 October 2007 at the Bucharest International Motor Show), and replaced the Dacia Pick-Up. Sales began in Romania in 2008, with the price ranging between €7,300 and €9,450. Starting October 2008, the Logan Pick-Up is sold in South Africa as Nissan NP200. Visually similar to the original model at launch, it received a mildly facelift in early-2009. It is being built at the Nissan plant near Pretoria, alongside the Renault Sandero. As of 2014, Nissan South Africa continues to offer the pick-up. It was removed from production by Dacia in July 2012, and has been replaced in the model range by a version of the Dokker

A rather novel model...I would have guessed VW, not Renault.

It looks great, but Eligors are a little too expensive for my tastes.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Nice casting!! I thought the truck looked like it was made from a family van, chopped off behind the front door. So it was developed from the Dacia MCV? I googled the MCV, and yup, it is a van. But this Logan pickup looks more interesting than a cookie cutter van. Too bad this one isn't available in the US. A LONG board probably wouldn't fit in the back, but some BOOGIE boards sure would. Surf's Up!!
