Today's car of the day is Jada's 2007 Mercedes-Benz S 550.

Wikipedia

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a series of luxury sedans produced by German automaker Mercedes-Benz, a division of German company Daimler AG. The classification was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116 S-Class, which succeeded previous Mercedes-Benz models dating to the mid-1950s. The S-Class has served as the flagship model for Mercedes for over fifty years in its various incarnations. The S-Class has ranked as the world's best-selling luxury sedan. "S-Class" is the anglicized version of "S-Klasse," a German abbreviation of "Sonderklasse," which means "special class" (in the sense of "a class of its own"). Although used colloquially for decades, following its official application in 1972, six generations of officially named S-Class sedans have been produced. The Mercedes-Benz W221 is a chassis code of S-Class, the successor of the Mercedes-Benz W220 and the predecessor of the Mercedes-Benz W222. The S-Class are the flagship vehicles of Mercedes-Benz and each generation typically introduces a range of technical innovations and developments that over time will find their way into smaller cars.

This generation of S-Class was largely ignored by diecast manufacturers, but I don't know why. Other than the silver and black versions released by Jada, the only other one I know of, is an unlicensed white sedan, made by Pioneer. I think this generation of S-Class is quite good looking. Am I alone?

Wikipedia

The W221 S-Class' exterior styling is distinctly different from the W220. The W220 somewhat broke with tradition in being smaller than its W140 predecessor, whereas the W221 is once more larger in all dimensions than its predecessor, offers more interior space and has improved performance. The W221 looks are often said to be more imposing than those of the W220. The rear styling is similar to the Mercedes-Benz Maybach - the larger saloon from Daimler AG's other flagship brand, which was presented to the public in 1997.

For the bum rap Jada often gets, they do on occasion get a hit. I like this.

This is a nice looking Mercedes Benz - even the wheels look great on this one. A well done model from Jada.

I'd say so...I don't think I've ever met anyone that particularly cares for it (especially when it's next to its predecessor and successor). It's not a horrible looking car though.

I think the body part of the casting is pretty good but the wheels are sunk far enough for me to find them distracting. A wheel swap to something that would actually fit in the wheel wells combined with the proper offset would improve this immensely- that's really the biggest problem with it.
