I can't believe this stuff going on with Tony Stewart. A tragic racing accident that killed a 20 year old kid. Who climbs out of a racecar and goes running out onto the track where many other racecars are flying by? And on a dirt track at that. That is far more dangerous than trying to cross a freeway on foot during rush hour traffic. Then they talk about charges being filed against Tony! How many videos do they have to review to see it was a hot headed, inexperienced kid's ignorance and stupidity that caused his death??? Every driver in every race takes his life into his own hands as well as putting his life in every other driver's hands in the race. Accidents are going to happen. To do something as stupid as that kid did increased his chances of death 110% I would say!!! |

I think they need to implement a rule you have to stay with your car unless it's on fire. The punishment of violating the rule should be a fine and repeated offenses a suspension. This was a tragedy but this isn't the first time a driver has left the car and confronted another driver. |

I don't think Tony was trying to hit him but I do think he was trying to send a message when he accelerated as he was passing the kid. Mistakes were made on the part of both drivers. It was an unfortunate accident and no charges should be filed. There will be a lawsuit though. |

Very sad.It can be a dangerous sport if silly mistakes are made.Running out on the track with oncoming traffic is one of them.Who in their right mind would do such a thing unless it was a tough guy move. That endangers all drivers on the track. No way did Tony intentionally try to run him over and does not deserve a lawsuit. Im sure he feels horrible about the accident and has to live with it. Eric |

It is sad, especially when you can't understand why it even happened, I don't get into racing that much, but am surprised there wasn't already a rule about staying in your car unless for fire or something like that, as mentioned, but then again I was thinking of it something like if your car is teetering off the edge of a cliff, hood first, survival mode common sense is going to stop you from climbing out onto the hood to escape, nobody would need to tell you to stay off the hood, you would just automatically fear going there....I don't know what would lead him to believe there was nothing to fear on the track, maybe like you guys pointed to, just anger that had overtaken his ability to think clearly, I just don't get it.

Here's Smoke a famous Nascar driver and here's a Kid that is a local legend. Put the two together and it turned out just a disaster. Think of the recognition you would get confronting the Brutal Tough Guy Smoke and being the up a coming new c ock of the walk. It was a recipe for disaster. Was it worth dying for? a course not but it was a decision he just didn't think thorough with. He was just a kid. He just didn't have maturity to think past his anger and his ego. * This was lifted off a writer from a newspaper and put in my words but it's the best explanation I have read yet. Well Tony Stewart isn't being charged with murder but still the family wants to take it to Civil Court. The family wants to still accuse Tony of murdering their son. I read where people say Ward had THC in his system not the marijuana and I say what difference does it make? If your wrong your wrong. What about Tony Stewart's being accused of being a Murder? Living with the tragic death for the rest of his life that he couldn't avoid. No telling what it has done to his career and defamation of character. |

I was sorry to see Kevin died but my experience around racing (and all sports ) adrenaline makes people do not smart things, from what I saw ....Tony didn't see him for the car in between them...regardless of what had happened in the laps before between them, I don't believe Tony knew he was there...one isn't thinking clearly stepping out, into especially a dirt track full of cars where control is at best sketchy .......
