Siku 1/87 Liebherr Crane

From this topic.

It's a 1/87 Liebherr Crane made by Siku. Very nice all metal construction on the body and chassis, with a plastic crane. Unfortunately it only extends one notch even though they molded 2 additional notches. My goal is to grab the 1/50 scale crane, which fully extends! But for now, this will do.

Excellent detailing all around, with a hook anchor point at the at the front and stabilizer legs that extend and very realistic rubber tires. It is HEAVY!! Enjoy.

I bought this at Mastermind Toys, which is a small toy store chain that started life in Ontario and has been expanding west with 2 locations in Calgary and 1 in Langley, BC. Very thankful that we have a Siku dealer here in town, and charges very reasonable prices!

You'll love the 1/50 scale version. Now that's a huge chunk of metal!

Hey Clem,

nice looking crane !! too bad it only extends once.

With SIKU you would think they went all out, would like to get one of these for myself.

also feel free to post your construction / farm related models in the " back forty " bay, just one scroll above this forum

I should correct my post - only the last extension arm is plastic. The hook is all metal. The model just exudes quality. Not pricey at all, coming in at $28 CAD:

And sorry the crane I am after is not 1/50, it's the 1/55 Mega Lifter:

if your into cranes look up Classic construction models.

now there are the BIG BOYS

these are all brass models very highly detailed, some are up to 6 foot tall fully rigged.

now the kicker , most are upwards of $5000.00 USD for each one

very cool !!

Well, I think I've found where I'll spend most of my travel money on my Canada trip next year.
There are four in Toronto, which means that I shouldn't have too much trouble finding one when I go.

Also they ship to the US from their online site.

I think the crane is great. Though it's 1/87, it is still huge compared to the many 3" size models in the pic.

Yeah do check them out though heading out to Langley is probably like a day trip for you LOL. They easily have the largest selection of Siku I have seen and their prices are more than reasonable. Also, the prices and the selection on the website pretty much reflect exactly what they have in stores.

Also (and for Cody as well), sign up for their mailing list as every once in a while, they send out coupons. The last coupon was 25% off any one item.
