I went to the Greenburg Show in Edison NJ this weekend[great to see Steve [Buddhaa] there!] and picked up only a few treasures. Not that I didnt want to buy more but funds werent there. The black HW T-bird [originally Corgi Jr casting] was purchased from Jason Ilyes at the 8/16/14 PMCC meeting! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The Kidco pinch framer is my favorite of the lot. If my memory is any good Jeff koch worked for JL and owned a 1/1 Montego or Cyclone and that's the reason they did that model. |

To craftymore: I had heard that tidbit of info as well. To juantoo; Thanks for the kind words. I always see the blue variation of the T-Bird but rarely see a decent version of the black variation! |

The tough one to find is the red vari. Gotta watch though, there were several Corgi issues in red, counting all the different wheel varis used, and one with silver tailfin highlights. The red HW version is a slightly different red from the Corgi (but hard to tell unless they are side by side), and it will have a HW base. It was only issued in a playset. It took me awhile to find one at a price I was willing to pay, and mine has a cracked windshield (it's there, but it is cracked). Until I find a better copy. |

Its funny you mention the red HW version ! I bought one several years ago at the CA Strauss convention! There were a few to choose from at the convention so I was able to pick the one I like the best. The black one was alwys hard for me to find in decent shape or not over priced. I have 2 wheel variations on the CJ version but not the silver tailfin version. |

Then you did well indeed! I haven't had trouble finding the black one, but I do agree it is far less common than the blue. It too was offered only in a set or two as I recall, I know the blue was found in at least two different sets. I have a blue one with the HW flame logo tramp stamp on the deck lid, and that appears to be uncommon...my boxed ones do not have it and I haven't found it on other loose examples either. I never stopped to count how many Corgi variants are out there, I'm bad about picking this casting up anytime I find it priced reasonably. I know it was issued early on (Vegas) with the five spoke Wizzwheels, and what appears to be the exact same car with the other common wheel type, but I want to say I've seen it with one of the other Corgi wheels as well (I don't recall seeing it with the 4 blob wheels, thankfully!), plus the tailfin trim. Then there's the black, black with tailfin trim, and white variants...and there may be more as well. *Then* there's Kiko, a Brazilian firm that licensed Corgi castings for the Brazilian market, of which I have the red vari, but I understand there to be at least three more variants I've never seen but in one pic online. This is a really fun casting to collect, and is my favorite of all. |

Oh yeah...I didn't even go into all the other HW variants. Funny that is one mainline I don't recall ever seeing paired with a Hiway Hauler for the grocery stores, after finding the Land Rover the other day online, I've scratched that issue off the list, but the Tbird hasn't shown in that form on my radar yet. But there were several box set issues; FAO, Motorin' Music, 100th Anniversary, etc. I think there were more HW issues than there ever were Corgi issues, but it only showed up in the mainline just once. |

A nice little batch of additions. Love the JAF. Yes, Steve is a nice guy. Swifty and I even got to ride in his Charger to the hobby store at CARnival. Nice two-tone interior. In the Charger, not the hobby shop
