Line got split up the street from me. Repair trucks have been there all day, but no dice yet. I've been without internet since yesterday morning some time. I stopped by the local library to check messages and email. Don't have a lot of time to read through every post here. But thought I would let folks know why I haven't been on much the past couple of days. You really understand just how dependent we've become on the internet when you don't have it. You also realize just how much time you've spent fooling around on it

We went through some of that this summer as our local provider was upgrading to a fiber optic system and it had all sorts of bugs in it - still better than last October when we had the nasty blizzard that left us without power for four days.

Things were back up and running by the time I got home. Checked in at WM and the entire diecast isle has been rearranged. Looks like that new M2 driver's set showed and most of the good ones got snagged. Didn't bother with the leftovers this time around. Need to curb spending once in a while. What happened here with the lines is that it was either cut by the road workers trimming tree branches, or it was just old and fell apart. I'm thinking age had something to do with it. We've had a lot of dropped internet signals over the past year. And one of the guys who previously came out to check things out said that we lived in an area where they hardly maintain these things. We're slightly off the beaten path. Plus it's just a weird area for internet and cable. From what I understand, there are places further off the highway that has no cable at all. And I live in NY...which is not all like what it's reported to be on TV. Upstate areas have some pretty nice country scenery, mountains, booneys, country folk. |
